1G White spark plugs- fix?

I checked out a 1g turbo car the other day and everything seemed okay except the spark plugs were very white. Obviously this was lean or possibly the plug wasn't in the correct heat range. Most vacuum lines on the car were eliminated, so a vacuum leak seems very unlikely. What would be some likely causes of this? The car was running stock boost as well.

Clogged fuel filter
Bad fuel pump
Bad injector

Plugs could also just be real old.

L2R's first three suggestions are the most likely.

Another common reason is using fuel with too low an octane rating.

Other possible causes:
- Air leaks between MAF hose and turbo (allows unmetered air into the engine).
- Faulty mass air sensor
- Bad ECU

Well it can't be a clogged injector, it was like that on all 4 cylinders, plus I believe that clogged injectors are extremely rare. I won't be going back to look at the car for another week so I'll have to ask more questions then. Thanks.
