whining noise?

well all of a sudden after i first start my car whether it is warmed up or cold, if i roll backwards either from rolling or it being in reverse it makes a whining noise. it only makes this noise the first time i go backwards after the car has just been started. any other time it wont make that noise? what is going on here? my car is a 91 gst with 69k.

Both my 93 and my 92 Talons had this problem. It ended up being a caliper that was starting to seize up.

you know its funny thats what you say because the noise comes from the left side and all of a sudden my left front brakes are squelling. awesome

Is it a high pitched EEEEEEEK like sound? If so it could be your rear break pads or rotors that may need to be checked and (or) replaced, I had a similar problem with my 99 gs so I hope this peice of advise does the trick.
