Hey thre guy's im not really a newbie but didn't know where else to post this question. I just got my engine back from the rebuild I have wiseco 9-0-1 comp piston's, eagle rod's and all arp fastener's with cometic head gasket, evo 3 turbo, 680cc injector's aermotive afpr, and 255 fuel pump. My question is this I was going to buy the ecu plus due to the fact that I don't have a e prom ecu and don't have the money to purchase one then buy dsm link. Or I already have a safc2 and a 2g maf setting here waiting to be installed if I wen't this route I was gonna purchase some brian crower 272 cam's and sue the safc2, 2g maf, and afpr to try to tune my car with. I also have a datalogger and a plx wideband air fuel gauge. All your guy's info is greatly appreciated. I just can't make up my mind what to do the car is a daily driver with occasional track abuse LOL.

You could probably tune your setup with a safc, plx, and logger pretty well, except for the 680's. Generally safc's can only compensate for up to 650's. You might be able to tune with it, I've heard guys talk about running 680s etc with a safc. Could you swap the 680s for 650s? If you went this route then you could grab those 272s you mentioned. Are you ever going to upgrade the turbo?

Yeah I have read around that the 2g maf flow's around 25-30% more air so I though this would make up for the 680cc injector's. As far as the turbo yeah when I get a daily driver I plan on upgrading the turbo and purchasing some bigger injector's with dsm link. So do you think the 272 cams along with the 2g maf would make up for the bigger injector's. I was thinking that with the bigger cam's, 2g maf, that this would make my engine produce more air flow so that in return would need more fuel so I should be alright with my 680cc. Do you agree with this? Thank's

I would get dsmlink and an eprom to use with it. I would be willing to bet that with dsmlink and stock cams the car would be faster than with the safc and cams. And the car will be much smoother with dsmlink instead of the safc. The cams won't do much with that turbo either. Do you already have those injectors? If not get dsmlink and 1000cc injectors. This way you won't have to upgrade in the future.

Yeah I already have the injecotr's and I can't afford the dsm link and also buying a eprom ecu. The car is my daily driver and im looking for around 350 hp to 400 out of my setup I was just wondering if this setup would be good for now. I read that the stock cam's are good for up to 500 hp. So I think I will just get the 2g maf installed, the afpr, 255 walbro, and try to get a decent tune out of that setup for now until I can save up and get a bigger turbo, dsmlink and bigger injector's and probably by that time a newer tranny.

You could sell the afc. Then take that money and the money you would have spent on the cams and buy an e-prom with dsmlink already installed.
