Hey guys another set of Qs for you 1337 7un3r5

First off, do I even need a palm if I buy something like the S-AFC? I figure that would tell me the data I need to know to tune right?

But I imagine my presumtion is wrong so . . .

Which palm should I buy to log data? Will any palm work as long as I have the proper cables and ??mmcd??

All the searching and reading I've done has pretty much not answered any of these questions i've proposed so any help would be great. thx d00d5

i would say u would need a logging device in conjucntion with a s-afc, the s-afc is a tuning device and i dont believe that it displays engine parameters like a datalogger, it might show o2 volts but not much else. i dont own an s-afc so anyone feel free to correct me if im wrong.

I currently use a palm M505 --> it works great EXCEPT in the winter time a fully charged battery will last about 1 hour. if I leave it in the car turned off for a couple of hours it will be completely dead. and the connection for logging is not very strong so you REALLY have to support it a hard shift could take the connection off the palm.

I am bidding on a Handspring Visor deluxe. they are cheap on ebay and get great reviews all over the net. digitaltuning.com says they have one of the better hotlink connections so you shouldn't have problems with it coming disconnected. and they run on 2 AAA batteries that are supossed to last for 2 months.

not to get off topic but ill sell my palm m100 to whoever is intrested i never used it really its just sit in my room

ok so ANY pda will work as long as I've got cables?

Also does anyone else have any more input regarding the need for a datalogger in conjunction with an adjustable fuel controller?

I used a very cheap Palm M100 with my pocketlogger program. Cheap and worked great.

Not every pda will work with the common logging programs. Contact the company that you are purchasing the logger through to find out if specific pda's will work.

I have both, s-afc II and a data logger, the data logger shows alot more information and has the ability to record and display in graph form... on another note... just get dsmlink... find some laptop on ebay for $200... pay the $500 for dsmlink... and you will be much happier and satisfied... or get a gm translator, find some random GM mas at a junk yard for $40, the translator can support up to a 4 inch mas I believe, and you have some room to tune for bigger injectors and what not with it... lots of different paths... but the ability to see data is a must... and if I were to do it all over again, I would definately go dsmlink.
