Im trying to get my 90 laser running and i need to get a complete cylinder head, problem is, no turbo 4g63's at the junkyard. will the n/t 4g63 head work? what is the difference between turbo and n/t head? also are the n/t cams the same as the turbo cams? Oh and will the old garret chrysler turbos fit or will it be more work than finding a 14b?

Btw: i did search

What about the garret chrysler turbos? will those fit on the stock manifold? plus lines? thanks for the help

Can i get a few other fellow DSMers saying the NT and turbo heads are the same minus the cams. I have 4 sets of turbo cams so its not a biggy

He is correct. There is a difference in 6/7 headstud hole sizing though. Just a little more info. Might be relevant, might not.

Can you explain the difference in that please? I have a few non turbos in the junk yard how do i know what will work

The thing I am not sure of is the 7bolt 1G head hole size.

When you go to order ARP's for the 4G63 it has the 6bolt and 7bolt listed as different part numbers. One is larger than the other. This is true for 1G 6bolt heads compared to 2G 7bolt heads.

I guess the thing would be to go to ARP's website or search around the N/T section to see what they use for HeadBolts.

here is the specs on ARP head studs:

6 bolt 1g (89-92.5) ARP 207-4201 12mm studs
7 bolt 1g (92.5-94) ARP 207-4203 11mm studs
7 bolt 2g (95-99) ARP 207-4203 11mm studs

as for the n/t and turbo heads. There are differences other than the cams.. The valves are different between the Turbo and N/T heads as well

**EDIT** Valves are the same...sorry...

Does this lead to different guides, springs, and retainers? Or is it simply a weaker valve?

This is news to me. Can you elaborate on the difference? Last time I looked, valves had the same part# on both heads.

Sorry, but no...

2.0 Turbo and 2.0 NT Intake valve: MD127840
2.0 Turbo and 2.0 NT Exhaust valve: MD127841

Only difference is the camshafts and the NT head having a block-off bolt where the turbo oil feed line is on a turbo head which can be removed for use on a turbo car.

well after i get out of school im going to take a trip for a n/t head. $27.95 :D i love pick and pull places :thumb:
also my pistons are suppose to arive today :D
