Is the HP Plus too much brake pad for the street? I'm about to order some new rotors and pads and would like some feedback on these pads. Need to know which to get the HP Plus or the HPS.

I haven't tried the HP Plus, but I have the HPS pads on the car now. I hate them - they have absolutely no bite at all. They stop the car like they should but I really like my brother's Axxis pads better because of the bite they have.

That's odd, all the posts i've read about hawk is how they have awesome bite.

Hawk pads come in all sorts of flavors so you can't really say they all have awesome bite. The HPS is just a good street pad and nothing more. I have used them for auto crossing before and they are fine. The HP plus can take more heat and have a higher brake torque with easy pedal modulation and release. The pads above the plus are track pads which are night and day better but they like to work at higher temperatures then you would normally see on the street.

I have driven both the HT-10 and DTC-60 formulations on the street and they both work well on the street and once up to temperature on the track are pretty awesome. The DTC-60 can take as much heat as the HT-10 but offers better pad life.

So the hp plus would be fine to run on the street. I probably won't do any track days just some very spirited street driving.
