Which is better out of a mechanical gauge and a electrical gauge, and why

I like mechanical because its ALOT cheaper, But with electrical gauges, they are supposed to be more accurate.

Mechanical brings the risk of getting a leak or something like that. I prefer electrical. I would recommend searching this topic though. There is a great archive of posts on this topic.

What kind of specific gauge are you looking at? If your talking about fuel, ie fuel or oil, I would stay away from mechanical as the fluid goes right into the gauge. Electrical isolate the fluid with a sensor in the engine compartment. Electrical are usually more accurate but also cost more.

I would rather have a mechanical for a boost gauge, the only way it screws up is if there is a leak. And you know how your car runs so if you're reading -10 at idle and its normally -18 guess what sparky.
