My initial goal was to locate a solid pipe UICP for my 2G turbo with little luck other then a custom made part or going to a few places where its VERY expensive I have decided to go other routes. My options are as follows, please help me decide. Remember I wanted a unit with the least # of connections, smooth bends and if possible to replace the TB elbow... I do NOT need a lower pipe as I already have one.

Greddy kit, on the expensive side ($200-220 unless I got it used). It has more parts then the other units ive considered, somewhat abrupt bent off the IC and does not replace the stock 2G TB elbow. Unless I found it used its going to include the lower pipe which I have no use for. Anyone know the pipe size? Id imagine around 2.25

RRE Kit, lower priced compared to the others (150-155). Powdercoated so it will be more resistant to crap under the hood. It is a two part design, section off the IC is 2.25 and the upper is 2 3/8 i believe which replaces the stock TB elbow. Does require the use of the stock flex pipe 90 degree to connect the two metal parts unless I decide to order a silicone 90 degree.

Hahn Race Craft Kit, Middle range price but on sale this month for $170. Comes powdercoated black. This is a 2 part design like the RRE unit however the two meet up so all you need is a straight silicone connector no 90degree or stock part used. Im pretty sure its a 2.25 and replaces the stock TB elbow. This also has a mounting bracket with factory matching holes to firmly bolt it into place.

Both the HRC and RRE have far less harsh bends in their pipes, off the stock IC and to the TB. I like the HRC due to how both sections of pipe meet up. I know in the end it not going to make a whole hell of a lot of difference. Because I will be buying a new unit (have not seen much for sale used and the used greddys go for $150+ on ebay WTF ) I would rather get exactly what I want. Plus since I cant get a solid pipe for less then $250 I just figured id get opinions from others.

I have infact read the dsm reviews site and found no known problems with any of these three units however never found anything to sway me to one either. Please note I am NOT interested in a dejon tool pipe as I am not a fan of their weak TB flanges and (my personal opinion lately) poor welds and powdercoating) I speak of this becuase I own and have owned many of their products

Thanks any input would be appreciated. Again this is a 2G Turbo car. Below are pics
1) is the greddy
2) and 3) are the two parts of the RRE
4) is the HRC unit

I like choice #5: Dejontool's UIC pipe. ;)

It's a two-piece design that comes with new couplers, replaces the stock TB elbow, is available in seven different powdercoated colors, seven different flanges for various BOV's, and they look great in the car. They're sold seperately, but total they'd be about $185. The lower intercooler pipe (from T25 to SMIC) is $65.

I know it's not one of the ones you asked about, but just in case you didn't know about this vendor, here's another option you have to look at. I have his UIC pipes on my car and am very happy with them. Here's a link: http://www.dejonpowerhouse.com

this should be a POLL. that would better suit the thread topic. ohh and dejon. better bang for the buck. or if you want hahnracecraft.com

Thanks for the replies so far but dont take this wrong you guys did not read what I had said at the end.

In regards to the Dejon IC Pipes... for my setup I want to stay away from their parts. Please do not take this as me bashing them! From my personal experience with multiple IC pipe and intake pipes I have not been overly impressed with their welds, powdercoating, lately their bends and most importantly their VERY THIN flanges. I agree if a poll is made and it probably should that they should be included, but for my car I want to keep away from it.

Poll created, enjoy and I hope this helps everyone out! Please talk about products in this forum with experience and try to keep opinions and biases out of this whenever possible. Comment on quality and facts of welds, pipes, powdercoating, fittment, connections (bead rolled, flanges and such) you know what I mean.

Me personally at this point think im leaning towards the HRC setup but have not placed an order and would like to see this all play out. Clearly short route pipes are a completely different setup and converstation all together...so please leave that out of this unless it is relivant. :D

Thank!

You missed the best one: Buschur Racing. I have one on my 2G and it's a single piece design on the main pipe and very tough. It comes powdercoated and has worked like a champ since I've owned it. The 1G also comes with a throttle body elbow and while it may be considered expensive, I've been very pleased with the performance.

Hope that helps,

Andy

In regards to the additional types:

The buschur along with the extreme unit are nice, and are 1 solid pipe however they are far more expensive then the others (or so I have found them to be) Can these be added to the poll? I dont see an edit feature

As far as the Brode, I have had trouble locating them... the site was not up-to-date when I last checked. Cheap yes, effective im sure! However id like to look at the entire UICP kits and not ones that require the stock rubber S pipe.

I have the RRE UICP and TB Elbow.

It's great. I just put a 1G TB on my car and with the RRE elbow being 2 3/8 it matches up nicely with the TB. Worked great with my 2G TB also.

The UICP powdercoat did flake a litte at the end of the pipe when I scraped it accidently. If your just careful with it and make sure you don't rub the ends on anything it holds up fine. The coupler covered the area it flaked so you can even see it. Other than that I've had it for almost 2 years now and the rest of the powdercoat still looks brand new.

I wouldn't get a 90* coupler for it, just use the stock hose like they mention. It's more of a 95* or greater angle, so the stock hose transitions the gap better, nice flow lines.

Welds have held up great.

Great price :thumb:

Well like I said in your other uicp post I liked the custom ones I got the best out of all the pipes I saw at the time of purchase. I'm not sure if he still offers them but I found he's email and wrote him to get his contact info if he does. If he is still making papes I'll pass the info along.

Oops... I almost forgot, in regards to the greddy knockoff kit taked about above. I considered that but the 90degree off the IC is a bit sharp, even more then the actual greddy part is. The greddy comes to a smooth bend while the copy has pretty much a direct 90 angle bend in it. For that reason I myself have decided against that unit. But im glad its working out for you

Well I got a reply, looks like he doesn't sell the pipes on ebay anymore, he makes them in bulk and sells them to a whole seller. He said he could make some if he had a quantity of 5. He didn't have a problem with me giving out his email to potential buyers, so its [email protected] & his name is Ronnie Diaz. Maybe if you contact him he can direct you to where you could buy a personal set. I don't have any pics of just the pipes at the moment but I believe I do on another comp. Like I said their complete from smic & include a new tb elbow, beaded ends, powdercoated etc.
