where is the best and easiest spot for me to run the live from the boost gauge to the engine bay? is there already a pre-existing hole in the firewall that would be the easiest for me? any info will help pics are even better...thanks

What I did was use an exacto knife to cut an "X" shaped slit in the rubber boot of the steering column and run the line through that. Tee into the line between the manifold and the fuel pressure solenoid and you're set.

You have two options, you can go through the firewall at the steering column as was mentioned, which is easy, but the steering column moves, so when I installed my boost gauge I ran it through at the speedometer cable which is harder to get at, and a smaller opening, but safer. The speedometer cable is up and to the right from the steering column. This web page may help Pillar Pod and Gauges Install

i ran mine through the steering boot, make a slit w/ a knife and it goes right through. as for the T fitting, im not to sure as what your question means but i got a small t fitting and cut my boost line from my manifold to fpr put the t between those, and the bottom end of the T goes to ## guage boost hose

I ran mine exactly the same way. To the Thread Creator, it isn't hard to make. Make sure you have a flashlight or a work light and take your time. Also when you cut through the steering column cut away from the actual column and cut the boot around it.

good luck.

what i meant was the boost gauge hose is too small to go over the t fitting like the rubber hose does from the fpr what should i use to connect the boost gauge hose to the 3rd nipple of the t fitting?

Ahh.... are you using the little white nylon hose that comes with the gauge? If so, don't. The thing will kink up and probably crack eventually. Go to your auto parts store and buy an adapter to screw on the back of the gauge. It looks like this:

It just screws on the back of the gauge where the line goes in. An auto parts store should have one. If not, extrememotorsports has it in their boost gauge catalog, and I'm sure it's available elsewhere. That done, get some silicone hose or other rubber hose. You can usually buy it by the foot at auto parts stores. Run it through using a method described above and you're set.

not sure if mrboxx answered ## question, i think ## talking about where the vac hose meets the vac hose from the manifold, not where the vac meets the boost guage. They sell different size T fittings, and some are universal like u can fit a bigger hose on the top of the T and a smaller on the bottom, i went to CAP and asked to see all that they had and bought like 10 of them, and just returned what i didn't use, hope this is helpful

I read too fast sometimes. ;) Thanks for catching that. Yeah, if it's the T fitting that's not working, just find a different one. Like 98GSX said, there's plenty of different combinations, so you just have to find one that fits.
