ok guys, Im a girl so I need a little help with this please. I drive a 1998 mitsu eclilpse GS-T and I am trying to add freon so that my air conditioning will be cool. I found the High side on the top at the right but I can't find the low side. I know its towards the back around the firewall I think. Is there a diagram or can someone explain to me about where its at?? Next to the compressor or what? And also is it supposed to have the little cap on it that says "L" like the "H" does. Thanks guys.... Please respond fast I'm really trying to fix this within the next hour and a half!! I appreciate it!! Thanks again!!

I forget which side is which, however one side is real easy to find (I assume this is the one you found) and it is up on top of everything on the A/C line. The other is down on or right next to the A/C compressor.

Hey, if you could snap a picture of the low inlet that would be awesome. Mine is covered in grime and I can't figure out where it could be. A 2G picture would be amazing

Here ya go. Pardon my power wire dipping right through the middle of the pic:p .

I know I am bringing back an older thread, but this is the only one with a picture to follow.

I have the Haynes manual, but in the section for recharging the A/C it only says connect to the low port and not the high port and also to follow the instructions on the R134a.

I saw this thread (and a few others that were not as in depth) but everyone posting has a Turbo 2g. Is the low port in the same place in both the 2g turbo and 2gnt? If the 2gnt is in a different place can someone please explain where it is at? Thanks in advance.

Unless my car was designed and built differently or tinkered with (very likely considering the stupid "fixes" I have been finding) they aren't in the same place. From the pictures posted the low port is deeper in the engine bay. On my car the ac piping went right over top the strut mount point and the low point was right on top in the middle, very easy to get to.

Only problem is, it is most likely a bad compressor now instead of in dire need of a recharge. :notgood:

Edit:
I stopped by my local mechanic to have him take a look at it and he confirmed the low port.

The low port was in the same place that ours is?

No. The low port in my car was over the strut mount in the engine rather than down in the back of the engine. If/when I get a chance I will take a picture and post it.

I have done a search on here and could not find anything... I have a 1990 Plymouth Laser turbo. I need to service the A/C, but I cannot find the low pressure fitting so I can add freon. The system has been converted to 134a. does anyone have a diagram where it should be. Oh by the way this is my first DSM.
