When you install a BOV is there any "trick" ....

you have to do for the maf/mas (what ever you want to call it) well my roommate just bought a 97 gst and he also got a turboxs bov tonight and some one told me that you have to do a little "trick" to keep the car running right when installing a bov on the car.... btw his car is bone stock.... any help please ... -Joseph

a bov has to be recirclulated for our cars to run right. Other than that no trick.

I appreciate the help but could you clarify what you mean when you say your car has to be "recirulated" . i know my car i just bougth the turboxs adapter kit and was able to put them on there simple as that ... he bought the adapter kit from turboxs also (this is what he bought plus the bov)

The reason for doing this is, you might help someone else later on with a similar problem using the BOV you have.

The problem with installing an aftermaket bov on this type of car is that the maf/mas (which ever you want) is before the stock recirc valve. This is a problem because the reading taken by the mas is reading air before the bov and when the bov expels air (blows off) it just lost that air that the ecu was computing in the the air fuel equation there for causing it to run rich at WOT and sometimes (not always causing bogging/boost problems) and also causing low speed drivability problems. but what i have read is not everyone experiences these problems. A soulution is to get a maf transitor....( someone correct me if i am wrong) and what this does is moves the air flow sensor to after the bov to give correct readings after the air is expelled. hope this helps some one else -Joseph
