I currently have my DSM all tore up, which essentially means head off, timing belt side all disassembled etc etc. What I am wondering specifially is what kind of sealants or fluids (ie RTV, Locktite) do I need and where do I need to use it. In other words which bolts/gaskets need extra care and what care/extra do they need? Any tips or small things that would help in the nit picky area would be appreciated, I dont need the main reassembly or anything, I think I have that, just small things that one may forget or not know... Thanks a bunch, it is appreciated :thumb:

I'd say anything prone to coming loose due to vibrations, or things that you REALLY dont want to come apart, thats where you want the Locktite(R). I'd use them on the cam bearing caps, that nut on the oil pump sproket, delivery body, oil pump gear housing bolts, alternator bolts, all pulleys, just anything you dont want coming loose. I have no balance shafts and Prothane motor mounts too, so you see why. Oh, and if you have the stock water-->>oil cooler, use some on that too, some people say it backs off, but it hasnt happened to me. Just use your better judgement, you'll be fine. I'd use the red high strength stuff. As far as sealant, use it on your oil pan flange, pressure fittings, or any kind of fitting thats going to be pressurized or whatever. You can buy your own gasket material from Advance Auto so theres never the need to buy new gaskets for throttle body, turbo outlet, or whatever you need to make gaskets from when you tear them.

You're gonna be on your own real soon if you bump a thread again.
