Wheel bearing

There is a hauling/whinning noise coming from the rear wheels and I am guessing that this is caused by worn wheel bearings. My car has 100`000 miles. Could it be the Wheel bearings, and how hard is it to replace them?

Yes, it should be the wheel bearing. and u should replace it as soon as u can. IF it breaks, it can cause alot of damage.

i don't know how hard is it to replace it. i just took it to a shop and change both of the rear bearing last week. (If u have the tools it shouldn't be too hard to do it.) btw my car has about 140000km

I don't know how hard it is on your car.

but if you wanna do it yourself it's not hard, just gotta know the technique to pack the grease.

How much was the bill?? Did it fix the problem?

it was $350/side (in Canadian). Yes it fixed the problem....

oh yeah, if u are not sure it's the bearing that has problem or not. u can try to listen for noise when u are turning. if noise gets louder when u turn. it's the bearing for sure.

but now i have my summer rubber on. it's a bit noisy again...

yes, it definatelly gets louder around corners. I know that sounds transver very easily in a car and it's hard to tell if it's coming from the front or the back. It sounds like it's coming from the back, but I don't know for sure.

Which bearings are more likely to go first, the back or the front?

ya if you let the problem go too long, the heat from the friction will warp the spindle, when i replaced mine, it was a really tight fit

Umm i dont think it will warp the spindle i let my fronts go till they interally welded themselfves to each other and busted out of the carriage. But youll wanna get them done at a shop they have to be pressed in and out .
