What's the ideal weight for 17's

I want to put some 17 wheels on my car. I don't want to go 18, I think that's too big. What are you guys running and what is a good weight to look for?

Yea dude. Wheels are sick. I think they only come in black though. If your not down with that find a good powdercoating place.

I bought a set of Nippon (5zigen Fno1r-c knock-offs) 17x7 hyper silver off of ebay and am more than pleased. Two of my closest friends run the true 5Zigen wheels and all the marking numbers are the same..plus 2 of my wheels needed no weights at all to balance and the other two needed the slightest bit. They weigh only 16 pounds too. Best for the money i could find... $360 shipped to my door.

From what I remember, stock 2G 17s weigh at 25lbs a piece. My wheels are 20lbs a piece, I would say that 18-22 would be a good range for the ideal 17" wheel. As said before, the lighter the better. If you can fork out money for the 14.4 lbs Motegi Traklites, get them.

Man 1300 for a set of rims? You could just buy factory rx7 rims and have them weigh pretty much the same.

I thought about that too. But I want to go 17. I originally wanted to use the old rims from my 91 300zx, they are 16X7.5 They look really good on my eclipse, but want to go one size bigger. another option I was looking at was to go with 16X8.5 from the TTZ 90-96, finding a set of the rear wheels is hard though.. i've look.
