Whats going on with my gears 95gsx

Ok so just recently my shifter cable came off cus the stock bushing are shit. So I went under the hood and and put in some brass bushings so that's fine now. Now my gears feel all out of whack. The best WaY I can explain it is in have to "look" some what hard for the gears mainly 3rd 4th. 1st I have to push so hard for it to go in. And when ever I put it in reverse it grinds and I have to take it out and slam it down

Sounds like your 3rd and 4th shift fork is worn down.

how do i fix it. it bugs the shit outa me. and just started happening. is it in the trans or is it the shift cable itself

It is inside the transmission. I am currently rebuilding mine, due to a broken 3-4 shift fork and worn 3-4 shift fork. The parts are cheap, but you must know what you are doing if you are going to fix it yourself.

yeaah im still learning ha so i probly wont be doing the work. alot to have some one do it? and how can i find a good dsm mechanic

You know the bracket that holds the cables on top of the trans? Loosen the 2 12mm bolts and adjust it. That might be the cause of your problems.

ended up being the shifter cable bracket wasnt bolted down thas why it had so much play!
