if i blew my VC, would the wheels lock up, or would only the front wheels turn?

the reason i ask is tonight i launched my car away from a traffic light at about 3500 and i just sat there roasting my tires. granted, the road on which i did this was soaked, but i doubt the car would just sit there baking all 4 tires... so anyways, all through 1st i baked them, then i put it in 2nd thinking they would stop spinning and i would just go, but i was wrong, it just baked through 2nd as well, so i shifted to 3rd and off i went. yes, the ebrake was off. i checked. i moved about 3 feet between 1st and 2nd.

later on i launched on dry pavement and the car just stuck and went.... not even a chirp. so im wondering what you guys think could be going on here...

and sorry if this should have gone in problem diagnosis...i dont know that it is a problem yet... wasnt sure where to put this...

Well, you're blowing up your car. It's just not made for that kind of abuse. It's borderline strong enough to deal with the power it puts out in slightly more than normal driving. This kind of treatment will get you familiar with a transmission rebuilder very soon.

wait, are you serious? theres dsms around here that have significantly larger amounts of power on a mostly stock drive train, that get molested every day. i know you are a silly guy and like to make fun of posters in a subtle way ( i know, ive been a victim) but this time im not sure.... i dont beat on my car all the time. the only reason i launched it from that light was cause i hadnt done it in a long while and i wanted to. then the reason i did it the 2nd time is cause i wanted to make sure that things weren't broken.

that being said, the car is under warranty with my dealership and they replace pretty much anything i tell them to. just got all new lifters installed and paid for because i wanted them! if i go in there and im like "look, last night the car just sat there spinning the front wheels." they will say "oh, lets replace the entire drive train!" i just wanna know if i need to go do this...

sooo, should i just take my car out on dry pavement and try and higher launch and see what happens? thanks for your time everyone.

Are you sure it was the tires slipping and not your clutch? Hows the tread on those tires?

im absolutely positive it was the tires spinning and not the clutch slipping. the tires do need to be changed though, definately. they are getting changed in another month or so, so if thats the problem then im not worried.

but if i blew my vc would my front tires spin, or would the wheels lock up? what would happen?

i run a low 14 and did a full force launch last night on a wet road and was spinning all 4 tires and kind of just sat still /slid sideways, and ive got good tires. you are just making mad tyte powa y0

well, thats good to hear. i run mid 14s, so we are probably about close in power. i guess it was all 4 wheels spinning... thanks, now i dont feel like my car is broken anymore.

guess thats what happens when you make "mad tyte powa y0".
