well i have a 92 tsi eagle and i what to know what it would do on the 1/4mile if i did the tuning guide up top for the 300 hp??cause if i spented 2g on it i what it to do 13s or lower and i dont have alot of money cuase iam a kid. :)

i think practice is key here, modding is not too too bad, heres a list of some things to consider : good intake, full exhaust, port match everything, port and polish the head, fuel cut defencer, forced induction pump and some injectors, AFC, clutch, short shift kit, also replace the small and worn out hoses and lines, they tend to pop at the worst time cuz of age, start with that and work on ur shifting, also u'll need gauges to monitor all those working parts, pressures and temperatures

well you gave him some excellent advise, what about me. i drive a stock 97 GSX but i'm about to install a Apex N1 catback and intake. its an auto, the motor and turbo are in excellent condition, and the wires have ben changed/replaced. what 1/4 times can i expect with & w/o torque-braking and what mods to get me there?

No one can tell you the answer to your question.

There are so many variables that most people dont even realize that it is IMPOSSIBLE to tell you this. Just go out and run it. So many people are actually scared of having a slow car or nto running a decent time. Just go out and do your best. Thats all you can do.

yea, pretty much what was said ^, thing is, u dont know times till u hit a dyno or the track. it depends on how much u want to invest in the car too. u can do smaller things or do major work, it'll all speed u up, mainly its a collective thing, of upgrading it systematically and dropping extra weight if u can. u can go faster if u just get a manual boost controller and crank the boost a slight bit. it wont get you into 12s but it'll get u closer to it than stock will. Greddy makes a very nice set of hardpipes for intake piping, a nice FMIC will add horses, porting and polishing the head, port matching things is also good. a full exhaust consisting from the manifold and down will help out tremendously. get a nice 3inch pipe. you can eliminate the cat, or if u have to have one, take urs cut it in half, gut it and weld it back together. you wont have to go and buy a high flow cat. it should pass inspection, cuz the oxygen sensors are still there and theres a car, nobody unbolts one and looks inside for a silly inspection. get some fuel injectors and a good fuel pump to match. upgrading to a better fuel rail will not hurt at all. also replace smaller filters and gaskets all around. it'll help out, you dont want to blow anything when u push the car. you dont have to replace the actualy turbine, you can work with what u have. also computer engine management is key, just knobs wont help. so look into that, AEM is a nice company to look into for that. electricals are important, you want to upgrade the power and ground wires to like a nice fat 4 gauge where possible, it'll help it out. doing smaller things collects into a bigger benefit combined like that. make sure the tranny can take it, get a nice torque converter for that much hp, make sure it wont pop on you. make sure the tranny and axles can take the extra strain. if ur adding over 120-100 hp its a good idea to look into upgrading axles. make sure the car is stable by upgrading the suspension on it. JIC makes a heavenly suspension, granted it costs that much to hit the sky with the stack of money you'll be forking over for it. you will also want to be able to control the car, its a safety thing for you and those around you. look into getting a nice 14 inch rotor and 6 piston caliper setup in the front. there are several companies that make very nice products, like Willwood, AEM, Brembo. Stainless braided lines for brakes will help out, they hold pressure well, hold up to heat and moisture really well, they are durable. Good pads will help, dont be stingy on those. Those rotors are big, so you'll have to upgrade to bigger rims, id go with a nice performance set, light and tough wheels that perform very nice will never be laughed at. youre going to end up getting extra wiring and some harnesses for things to hook up. Gauges will be plentyfull for you to monitor the car's systems. You will need to know how it runs all the time, to find out what is consistent and whats not, so if something changes on a gauge, you'll know theres a problem. pressures and temperatues will change, you will need to take that into account and monitor those. engine internals is also an important factor. you cant push stock ones forever, they snap, pop, melt and so on. a good crank (having no crankwalk issues is a big one also, make sure theres none of that) is nice, along with a set of pistons, rods, the entire vavletrain like springs, retainers, lifters, cams, the valves themselves, that whole bit is important. you're goin to probably end up changing to better more expensive internal fluids in the car, its pretty much will go to a really high maintenance car that will have to be babied all the time. you'll need to read up and find info about turbo cars, how they behave, some specifics of it. read as muc has u can absorb, then read more. find a manual for your car, it helps. get into smaller crap. replace bushings of different sorts before the car is pushed, so its ready and stock ones dont crumple and you dont snap motor mounts. theres a lot to consider when modding a car. its s big plus that its already build with and for a turbo application. timing will change with different upgrades, sometimes itll be retarded a bit sometimes advanced, depends on what you do. belts will need to be changed. you could do a BOV and a wastegate(i prefer the externally vented ones, no point in puttin it back into the piping) so theres no boost creep. turbo will lag, it wont kick in right away, some of it can be helped with a bit of nitrous, if you want. u can switch to a higher octane rating gasoline, like 100, its really nice. you could do a nitrous cooled FMIC setup. get a propane, water or alky injection system done. run higher compression. upgrade ignition. all those things and then a heaping pile more will make u go fast. this stuff doesnt come cheap. that whole list up there is very expensive, if u got money thats great! go shopping, get it done in a shop all properly if u dont know how. if not u can upgrade in smaller steps, ensuring nothing breaks from the upgrade. like u cant push 150hp of NOS into a stock engine and not expect any damage, you know what i mean? i hope this helps you out with the car, good luck. write me if anything, send a PM or on AIM, im on a lot. all the best to ya :thumb: :dsm:
