What to look for on your first DSM

Hi everyone, i come from a honda background A.K.A b18 and h22's. I got a nice deal last week for this talon tsi 1989-1990 i think, for $2500. They say the motor has just been replaced with a new one and has less than 100k on it, it also has about 800 watts of sterio system but there's wires everywhere. Its a 5 speed manual and i didnt see any problem whatsoever. My friend and I test drove it and it was very fast, it went up to 14 psi in no time plus the clutch and brakes seem not to be harmed.

I would like you guys to point me out somethings that i must look for before buying my first dsm so that i dont get caught.

get one of the local dsm guys to go with you to check it out... be worth a case of beer to get an expert to check it out with you.

I'm a 2g guy... don't know all the ins and outs of the 1g and things to look for other than the usual used car stuff.

All eelctrical works, seatbelts move smoothly, compression test, reccords, make sure the timing belt looks good and wter pumps has been replaced... who rebuilt the engine??? Iss that a good place or is it a hurry up so I can sell the car deal... stuff like that...

Contact the Phoenix guys on yahoogroups DSM_SW. Lots of knowledgable DSm guys that would be glad to help you out if only so they don't have to walk you thru repairs...

And a bunch of 1g guys to boot. Particularly since 90's are a 1year only car

The engine wasnt rebuilt, the engine was replaced and this one has less than 100k, its clean, and the seatbelts work, doesnt have review miror though

How can i get in contact with those guys in phoenix?
