I have a 93 awd but it currently has a na engine turbocharged in my car. I know the na engines are weaker than the T engines so I was wordering if I should get a turbo engine or if I should build this na engine to be able to handle 20 psi from a 50 trim. What would you guys do? What would be cheaper?

how do you have an na engine? Those never came with an awd car. Anyways, turbo engines are cheap. Buy one of those and swap it in since most likely you'll pull the motor anyway if you build the one you have in there now. Might as well drop in something better.

If you are only speaking of the block you can use the NA you just won't have oil sprayers. The big difference is if he used the turbo head and cams.

pistons are the major difference. once you get turbo pistons, then you'll be fine.

i feel the cam difference isnt enough to even bother dealing with.

cliff notes: youre turbo pistons away from having a turbo motor; except for minor things such as the cams and oil squirters.

dsmturboawd is right the cams aren't much of a difference. i had the n/t head and cams from a 90(stamped "A") on my 4g63t block then went to turbo 92 cams (stamped "C") turbo just spooled up slightly quicker(bout 500rpm) i'm still using the n/t head i even ported it

:D

BTW the head is basically the same except for the cam stuff so it doesn't matter which one ya got if you have the right cams.

He may have the right pistons and cams and stuff in there.....maybe the guy just cracked the block and did the build correctly.

doesn't feel any faster but then again i haven't tuned yet also i really haven't mashed the throttle yet(new motor);)
