My piston rings are bad and i'm burning oil.. i want to rebuild my motor. Is there anything else i'll need to buy beside pistons, piston rings, connecting rods and studs???? I was thinking about buying EVO pistons with Eagle Connecting Rods. Does anybodt have these? How do they perform? Any suggestions to what i should buy. Thanx guyz.

Well, how much of a rebuild? You can re-ring it without pulling the motor, and on DSMs it's often enough. Have the valves refaced at the same time. From there, you can go to new lifters, new valve guides, and new seats. If you go the pull-the-motor route, a full rebuild would be main and crank bearings, tank the block, new welch plugs, polish the crank bearings, new bolts throughout.

If you're just burning oil, I'd not bother with rods and pistons.

i'm guessing it's the pistons because i just changed my oil 500 miles ago and i had no oil in my car.... i put 4 quarts in and took it around the block and it lost a lot of power... my del sol felt faster:thumbdown
