I didnt think it was just me that was thinking that 140-165 in a stock GS/RS is actually true...
First off #1 Its Less Than A GS-T And some people who have GS-T's are claiming lower times than 165...
Thats like my friends Civic (i know , i know....) with a B16A (weak) in it and he claims speeds of 13's in the 1/4 and everytime i seen him at the track with me he was running like 14.8 at the Possible Lowest!...

Not trying to prove anything just making a point that some people stretch the truth when other people are around...

Stock the GS and the GS-T top out at the same MPH it's just that the GS takes a hell of a lot longer to get there... Catch my drift? :|

Alright, in 4th gear our max speed when you hit threv limiter is 131mph.There is no fuel cut at 130 and there is no way to get over 131 in 4thgear on our stock transmission.(Someone said 150 in a previous post)

The reason I know this??? Last time I got my car dynoed we did the run in 4th gear.I had him print out the graph for hp at mph.If anyone is in vegas and has a scanner,e-mail me and we can post the dyno sheets.

ok in my 92 eclipse with a k/n cone filter only on a back road(not very level)me and my brother hit 125mph in 4th gear at 6200rpm.the first gen n/t can hadle up to 7k rev before shifting not much power after 6600 but hey its still power.and i want to know if anybody agrees with me that on a n/t dsm car with only a cone filter that u can pull .40 better then stock times on these cars.stock time on 1st gen dsm's(2.0l)is 16.7 i pulled off a [email protected] this past summer on bald tires and 90 degree weather with extremely high humidity.

SHOs are cool. I dont know about that 99 but i know that the 93 has a Yamaha egnine. Fast too. It beat a mustang GT (it was awsome to shut a mustang owner up) and it BARELY lost to a Grand Prix GXT (if your dont know what those are they are the really fast version of a GTP). Thos cars are fun.

135. Only mods were a k&n, higher flow exhaust and a cooler for the transmission. I didn't run it, the guy I bought it from did. Now he could have been lying but on the way home he tried it, but without OD we weren't hittin high. He said when he hit 135 it had a tiny bit left, but gave it a brake and left it go.

#@%#@%#@%#@%, my car shuts off at 105 @ 2600rpm. whats the best way of getting that reprogramed? ive been told a jet chip, a hypertech chip, take it somewhere and just have the whole thing programed, and other ways. what have you guys done?

ok, im gonna use a tranny calc i found 2 calculate the speed at rpms in fifth gear. this will be using the ratios off VFAQ. gimme bout a day and i'll get 1g nt (2.0 i believe), 2g nt and 2g nt spyder. i will give speeds for 4000+ rpms till redline (7000 rpm). i will use a 205/55R16 wheel size (thats stock 1g right?) if u can specify stock 2g wheel size, unless i find it first that would be great. this will be posted possibly tomorrow or friday.

I have a NT automatic trany RS and though it takes an awhile to get to my top speed ive hit 130 mph

let me get some clarification of stuff ive been reading, the 2g eclipse has a governor at 130mph because the stock tired cant handle more speed then that, ive gotten mine up to 130 on stock tires, but if u change ur tires, im rolling on kumho's now......u can change the governor... i dont suggest u do this with ur stock tires but its possible

Nope. They are drag limited. Why put a speed limiter on a car that doesn't come with enough power stock to move it's heavy ass at like 170? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the GST the only limited one? GSX has no governor either right?

im only talking about the 420A engine i dont know about the gs-t or gsx engine, sorry for the confusion

notes:
*You will NOT necessarily reach these speeds and your speedometer
may be inaccurate at higher speeds
*1G GS is assumed to be NT 4G63 2.0L 16V DOHC
*2G NT is 420A
*Spyder is 2.4L
*Wheel size used: P205/55R16
*Differing wheel sizes can effect speedometer reading
*Tranny ratios obtained through VFAQ at www.vfaq.com
*All speeds are in fifth gear
*Speed calculated through www.volkswagen.org/tiresize.htm

I had my car up to 144 mph with my girl in the car with me (she is my witness)

there was no confusion. I realized u meant 420a. The GST is the only eclipse with a limited speed I think. GSX may be. I don't think it is. RS and GS does not have a speed limiter, they are drag limited, meaning they just don't have the power in stock form to go passed a certain speed. :thumb:

My 2.0L (no mods or turbo) ESi hit 220 kms and its got 322,000kms on it! I just didnt want to kill it.
Soon to be rebuilt.
