I have searched for a while, but no clear answer yet.

I have 95-96 2ga ebay PROJECTOR headlights and I am buying the HID kit but I need to know the exact bulb to fit since I believe the 9006 will NOT fit. I checked what the kits including the headlights and hid kit use and they say H1 but I just want to verify. Is it H1 for my low beam projector?

I had a pair of Ebay halo projectors and the light output sucked. I've heard that HID's look like shit and or destroy ebay projectors.

I have a pair of eBay projectors and yes the light output it garbage. The site said it was a H1 and that was way off. I know that I saw some projectors that come with a HID kit that actually fits correctly somewhere. But as for just getting the eBay projectors and HIDs and trying to make them work. It's not worth it, I feel like I wasted money.

I already have the projectors and since I'm replacing the lights I actually found the whole HID kit for $35 Shipped! So for $10 more than the halogen bulbs I am getting an HID kit instead!

As far as the melting of the ebay projectors I have recently done research on this exact subject because my BMW 528i had ebay projectors and the projector mixed with the heat from the halogen bulb was melting the outer plastic in seconds! The solution was to put HID's because the heat emitted from the HID was much less than that of a standard halogen bulb. Thanks to everyone for the replies. I guess I'll be ordering the H3 kit. Wish me luck LOL :D

well if you already have the projectors anyway then i guess its really not that be of a money loss if you dont like them. They look cool as hell but just dont put out enough light for me. Dont get me wrong i still have them installed but im not sure how much longer they will stay on there. Also i got mine for about $45 and i already had the projectors so i dont really feel like i lost alot of money just wish they had more light output.

Good luck with those $35 dollar trash can HID's you'll burn through bulbs and ballasts like birthday cake candles. I personally don't like getting pulled over for having a headlight out but do as you please.

But when it does happen learn from your mistake and go to a shop spend $200 installed on a lifetime warranty nice setup and never look back.

I'm sorry, but are you kidding? Unfortunately, all you're doing is spreading misinformation with a matter of fact post like that.

Have you ever looked into SharpHIDs products? We installed their plug and play HID kit on our DSM as well as both of our parents cars over two years ago. We paid about $75 per kit (back then) and haven't had a single problem with any of the three kits. SharpHID products come with a lifetime warranty, sell for about $50 per kit currently and they're one of the site's supporting vendors.

HID kits used to go for around $400-500 at shops when they first came out but many years have passed since then and any shop selling them for $200 (installed or not!) currently is overcharging by quite a bit. Just because you're paying more doesn't mean you're getting a better quality product, it could just mean you're over paying. :(

Well put. I'll look into SharpHID. I don't mind spending a little more to get a better product especially if it has a lifetime warranty! :thumb:

I bought low and bright HIDs from ebay about 2 years ago... the 8k temp.. Bright as hell and never had a prob with them.. Even ended up buy the h3's to replace fog lights.. Never had a prob other than people flashing me thinking I have my brights on when they aren't..LOL

For the HID's.. As long as the bulb number is correct for the low and high beams.. they will work.. Had some for my talon and now eclipse..

The best option is to order an extra set of ballasts and bulbs so in the event one does burn out, you won't be stuck waiting a week for shipping. :thumb:

Also good idea for when you want a new color. I have three sets of H1 bulbs: 4300K pure white for rainy days, 10,000K blue for cruising nights, and 30,000K deep blue strictly for attention whoring:D

what headlights to you have? I dont know what the stock headlights use but please dont put HID's into a stock headlight. you'll blind everyone.

The projector headlights I got were H1. it always says on the bulb

I have 2ga projector headlights. SO far I have two people that say H3 and you + the eBay vendors that say H1. I think I'm just as confused as when I started.
