I am getting ready to order my fuel system and I have a few questions. I will be tuning with an AEM EMS.

1. The shop I have been going to says that with 1000CC injectors, I will not idle right because they will not shut fully or something. Is this true? How big of injectors will I need?

2. How big of fuel pump will I need? I thought a 255 high pressure would cut it but they are trying to convince me to go with dual 255s. What pump will handle this it?

3. I will be replacing the fuel injectors, FPR, and pump. Is there anything else that would be a bottle neck or wouldn't be compatible with E85?

Thanks for the help!

If you plan on running e85 and your asking those sorts of question about fuel systems I would do a little bit more research.

The guys on the Neon forums have a lot of information. I believe one guy is even running straight e85 on his turbo neon. Head over there and take a look.

depends on the turbo, the amount of boost, and the timing you're going to be running, among other things.

Some of the guys out here are getting 1600cc's to idle just fine with dsmlink and E85, even though they won't idle (well) on gasoline.

I would say that anything over a 16g i'd be looking into 1000cc's. Friend up here was running a rewired 255hp with 1600's with his FP3052 at like 28+psi and seemed to be doing fine and trapping in the 129+ range [shrug]

I want to experiment with E85. I am just looking for a fuel system with head room that will work well as a daily driver.

thanks for all the help

I just switched to E-85 and in the process of installing my 1600cc injectors, but I am running Megasquirt with the HiResolution Code so they say that should not be a problem. The fuel pump thing might be true bc I was told that I would need two pumps aswell. Also I have a straight -6AN fuel line from the tank and alot of people on here told me to utilize the injectors I need to go to -8AN line

I think i would be hard to tune e85 on a safc as you need atleast 1000cc inectors casue with e85 you need atleast 30% more fuel than with regular gas. And being that safc max is like 650s and to try and get an extra 30% out of it, your idcs would be through the roof.

i can't imagine that you could succefully tune the car with just an SAFC for E85. You would need at minimum some sort of chip like Keydiver's over at dsmchips or dsmlink/aem/etc.

He'd probably get better information from other DSM guys who are ACTUALLY running E85

There are a ton of people on this board who are running on straight e85/e98, i dont see the point in finding out what neon guys are doing.

So the rest of the fuel system can handle it? I figured that a 255 would cut it. At what WHP number do you outflow the fuel lines and rail?

Thanks for all the help!

Did you miss the part were I said that "You can't run e85 with a SAFC."

You are going to need at least a walbro 255hp or supra tt pump and an afpr with a liquid gauge for your fuel supply.

Did you miss the beginning where I said EMS?

So will I have any drivablity issues with 1200s? What is the brand to go with for these?
