Hi all.

I have not posted much here but I have been researching alot. I am going to be getting a 2.5" turboback exhaust in the coming month and I am not sure what I would like to do after that. I know i would like to get either an intercooler (I plan to put all the piping together myself to keep cost down), engine management (im pretty set on the ecu+ unless i can come across dsmlink for cheap), or something else that anybody else thinks might be more benifical. I do plan on getting an evoIII 16g but I would like to get all the supporting mods first. So if anyone can help me out in my decision it will be greatly appreciated. By the way this site is great and my mods are in my profile. Thanks in advance.

You never mentioned anything about fuel. A 190lb/min pump can handle that EVO 3, but a 255 is just added insurance for future upgrades. An Adjustable fuel pressure regulator and maybe a 1st gen throttle body to go with that UIP.

Check out the tech guide. It should be helpful.

If you plan on going with DSMlink you will likely be able to push the Evo III to its max. This means that in the unrewired state the 190lph might be being pushed just a hair over its limits, or extremely close. If rewired it should be just enough, however this leaves no room for error. I would rather just get the 255lph HP and say screw it, and also get a FPR at the same time. DSMlink is 516 bucks on ebay right now from a vendor, so theres your deal, and I cant really say much about ECU+ but I'll be damned if I wouldnt buy DSMlink again if I had to, best mod Ive bought to date.

Ya 16g-95gsx is right, if you want a good deal on dsmlink get it from that guy on ebay, great deal at $516. I just ordered from him. He is legit, I checked with Thomas from dsmlink beforehand. I would recommend dsmlink over the ecu+ as it has alot more features, such as fuel trim logging and the ability to log knock. Also the ecu+ isn't made for the eclipse anymore so you would have to buy it used, it was great 5 or so years ago but its not your best bet anymore.

I know i'm being a little to picky, but after owning 4 dsm's i hope i know a thing or 2.. It seems to me you are jumping into things a little to quickly. You should be getting your exhaust and fuel before you think about doing anything else. Once those are installed and you have the gauges to monitor your boost and fuel move on to your turbo. after the turbo its a toss up between the dsmlink and the intercooler. I would also HIGHLY encourage the dsmlink.. its a wonderful piece.

P.S. you probably did this, but make sure you have a boost gauge and something to either monitor your fuel via fuel pressure or a/f gauge. Also, you should have an air filter before all that other stuff is done. and of course your car is running at its peak(new plugs, wires, oil, filter etc)

Looks like he's good in that department has a boost gauge listed in his profile :thumb: . Didn't mention it earlier but I would upgrade your fuel system before you get the turbo. Larger injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump re-wire & something to control it with (ie dsmlink), personally I would get the ic after the turbo & fuel system.

I thought that the ECU+ just came out a year ago and if you go to the website they say that they are working on a knock sensor so I think I will wait for that and get that (although a great product I really cant spend 700+ on dsmlink) and also get a 190 fuel pump. Thanks for the help guys
