what should i do for fuel management

Personally, I think the portfueler is much better than the megasquirt. Granted the MS can do a little more, HOWEVER, I don't like the idea of one device controlling my entire car. The MS is NOT for beginners in anyway.

running an e-manage and s-afc together is like using a profec b and avc-r in conjunction :nono: they're built for the same function, just by different manufaturers :toobad: it's ok though guys...I plan on hooking up a Zeitronix zt-2, AEM uego, Innovate LM-1, and PLX R-500 side-by-side on my dash  my a$$ will be dataloggin like a mutha

anyways guys, the point we're tryin to make here is...that guy has too much money than he knows what to do with, and he apparently is a fan of the digital display. oh well, at least I have my weighters on...cause the sh*t is gettin thick in here :spam:

i definatly dissagree wiht you on this one. i would rather have one thing controlling everything. that way if something isnt working right you have fewer things to look at. also, with more devices, you have a better chance of something breaking or failing. just my .02 tho. both the Portfueler and MSnS are good set-up's, but i would choose MSnS over the portfueller

With a lot of NT's going turbo lately, and people upgrading fuel options, I predict the future threads will start reading "Whats better MSnS vs Porterfuler vs E-mange vs SAFC"

With that we can already see the people are taking sides much like the Hahn Kit vs Star Kit vs custom kit.

With that said I'd like to start 3 different threads for people to post information on each of these fuel management systems.
1. MSnS
2. Porterfuler
3. E-manage & SAFC(2) & Other options

Each thread should contain
1. Basic info about each product
2. Price of unit
3. Price of extras to run unit
4. Exactly what functions of the car you can control with the unit
5. Where to purchase a unit
6. Installing the unit
7 Tuning the unit
8. Anything else you want to add.

So with the moderators permission, I'll post 3 thredz right about now for everyone to get started. :thumb:

I am trying to pull some numbers at least around 400hp in my 420a. Went with the electrmotive stand alone. Car is still at CFT (CentralFloridaTurbo.com if you want to check out there site, some nice videos). The motor is fully built even with 880cc injectors. Once the car gets out and after I break in the motor I will try to link a vid of my dyno run to show the HP I got out of this setup.

I have the same standalone
I'll be putting everything back toghter this weekend
tranny
motor
and next week it will all go back in my car
then I break her in and I'll post dyno numbers.

as far as using the safc to controll the e manage it makes perfect sence
prople are now using piggy back controllers to acess there full standalone maps and make corrections

if he is running an 8 inj set up he could also be using the safc to controll the extra 4 inj's ever. ever thoguht of that.

no it doesnt make sense because the e-manage is not a stand alone, it is a piggy back. fuel control wise its the same thing as a s-afc. also, why would you use a piggy back to control a stand alone, just make the corrections on the stand alone.

also, he didnt say anything about him running 8 injectors, he said he was just running 500cc's

How much did you pay for your stand alone, I think the shop is raping me on the price and I can't find prices on the web. They are putting the fuel and maping (all of it), how much should it cost legit?? And do you like it?

no the guy i was talkin to was the running the safc and emanage system on 550cc injectors at 28 psi at almost 500hp, if it works for him which i seen it does well then i think im gonna give it a try. if it doesnt work then i guess im gonna go with the 8 injector setup

i went to that site and read and watched a movie on the electrmotive stand alone, sounds pretty damn good.now for the guys that have it was it hard to install? do u have a digram or anything? and where do i purchase this unit, didnt see anywhere or how much it is thanks

holy damn, bend over... why not do the labor yourself? $2000 for labor minus the amount that pays for dyno time? damn

Tell me about it, I should have an enter here sign on my back. The reason why I am paying for it is because I wanted it done right and I didn't think it had been done before. I have no idea how to do it and I needed it to be tuned right and they are the shop that can do it. I just hope that I get every dime I put in to it worth it.

sorry don't know how to install it, as you can see how much i am paying. and I bought it from CFT, they ordered it so I have no idea where to get it on the web, sorry

i wounder if it would be ok to ask them how they installed it or at least a place to help me out, and im sure they will tell u where they ordered it from hopfully :)

You are in B.C. right? If you are, you should come down to Portland and check out TorqueFreaks and the AEM EMS installs into the 2GNT. ;)
