What is this wire?

Well while I was messing around in the engine bay of my car, I found this wire just dangling. Anybody know what it's for?

Looks like the same wire on the 2G heatshield

look on the front of the pwr steering pump..theres a male connector that it slides on too.

it usually plugs into the alternator. there should be a small plug to plug it onto.

Its attached to the same harness but goes to teh power steering pump.

yep I found it, between the headlight and ps pump. Thanks guys.

I wondered what that thing was supposed to go to. Had the same wire dangling on my GSX and my Mirage. Could never figure it out. Should it be taped up, if you've converted to a manual rack and ditched the pump?

Ya, mine fell off, was sitting on the dump tube and melted it, i just cut it off at the harness, i have no clue what its for. I figured like a powersteering fluid level light but i dont think the 1g's have them because i had no power seering fluid in it before and i didnt see a magical light that came on to tell me so.....

It's to tell the ECU to bump up the engine idle so the PS pump load doesn't cause the engine to die.

Interesting....though i didnt notice an idle change when removing it.
