2G What is this plug?

I was looking around in my trunk and found this plug unconnected, I was curious what this was. I also have the low washer fluid light on even though I have plenty of fluid. Is it possible the sensor went out from either wear and tear or hot and cold temps (located in Indiana).

That is the luggage compartment light switch connector. If your vehicle has a factory alarm system, this is an open connection.

As for the fluid light, yes, it could be a faulty or stuck switch.

My spyder has the factory alarm, but does not have that connector...

I can confirm it's not the trunk light connector the light still comes on when you open the trunk. But it could be the alarm switch my car is equipped with it. It goes off sometimes if the doors are locked but I use the key to open the trunk. possibly something up with that. Thanks for the feedback everybody!

The FSM only lists a single, one-wire, black connector in that area and says it is for the luggage compartment light switch and is only used when the vehicle is not equipped with a factory alarm system, hence "open connection". The reason your light still works with this connector unplugged is because you have a switch integrated into the lock cylinder, the electrical connector for which is the two-wire black plug @spyderdrifter pictured above.

Disconnect the battery and unplug the two-wire black connector. Check continuity between pin 2 (red wire with green stripe) with the single-wire black connector. You will see zero resistance (or hear your meter beep) meaning the two wires are on the same circuit.

Then after reconnecting the battery, knowing that all this switch is doing is grounding the circuit to turn the light on, you can play with it a little and:

• Unplug the two-wire black connector and connect the terminal in the single-wire black connector to ground and the light will come on.

OR...

• Unplug the two-wire black connector and connect the terminal in the single-wire black connector to pin 1 (black wire) of the two-wire black connector and the light will come on.
