first off what does "trim" mean (ex. 50 trim on engine or something like that) and what is my 1992 eagle talon 6 bolt trim? oh and also while on the subject, why does my car shake when you cruise on the gas. like not giving it alot of throttle. it only happens when i am crusing ( like gas is at a perfect medium in order to stay at a constant speed) if i let off the gas it stops shaking and when i apply gas in a pulling amount, but when i have it to where i can cruise it starts shaking furosiously. please tell me why. if you need any more info i will be glad to answer to my knowledge. thanks

Got this off of yahoo .

Trim=the ratio of the turbochargers inducer and exducer wheel, in short, its the "size" of the turbo. youll hear someone say that they are "running a 50 trim". the equation used to calculate the trim is as follows:

[(minor wheel diameter)x(minor wheel diameter) / (major wheel diameter)x (major wheel diameter)] x 100= compressor / turbine wheel trim

A/R=the measure of efficiency of the turbocharger. It is the result of an equation taking into account the various measurements of the turbocharger itself. The bigger the A/R, the more potential boost it can provide, but higher A/R turbos take longer to spool. Spool time is the period of time from idle, to the point where the turbo is producing full boost.

Basically, those two items help to identify how big and "powerful" of a turbo someone uses. big turbos can produce a great deal more boost, but at the same time, the more potential a turbo has, it typically has a longer spool time.

A flange is the mounting surface at which two items meet. All cars have exhaust flanges, turbocharged or not.

When your talking about trim of a car it pretty much means what level of parts and how expensive are the car IIRC

I got a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX which it the best rtim possible for that year
then you got the GS-T, Then GS, and finally at the bottom at the barrel the most basic RS

GSX and T's came with all the best options ie : leather, turbo'ed, cd player, cd changer, high rise wing, sliding sunroof,Full power options etc etc...Keyless entry

Where as GS may have came with leather but not turboed , may or may not have a cd player and/or changer could have tape player, may or may not have sunroof, most likely has power options

RS most base model no cd player, no power, wind up windows, non turbo, tape player,The cheapest and most basic model, as cheap as they come...

But again somebody could order everything from a gst/x and put it on a GS or RS if they wanted to spend the extra cash where it came standard on the higher model cars...

Model= Trim

Cant really help you about the shaking....Maybe tires are low, tires are out of balance...theres a few variables out there yet...
