it's the lower outside panel on the driver door. i cant even get my door open when i try to get out, it just makes the panel buckle. it seems the clips disintegrated and the adhesive failed. does anybody know where i can find those clips? any thoughts on what adhesive to use ? i tried that gray trim tape, it just wont hold strong enough!

what if a girl asked me out tomorrow? i would be in a huge pickle!

here are some pictures since i do a crappy job at describing the problem

How big is the gap between your door and fender ? Check the other side and if the gap is bigger, adjust the fender on the driver's side to match it. As for the tape to use, use 3M double sided tape. Take the side moulding completely off, clean it, and use the 3M tape.

Mine did the same thing. I replaced the clips and tried 2 sided tape several times, but it kept coming off. I ended up just using 3 little pop rivets on the front of the panel. Wasnt the most graceful solution but its not really noticeable and i know it wont come off.

the gap is just big enough for the panel to clear when i open the door, but only if i push the panel down flat how it should be while i open it up, the gap is the same on the passenger door. youre right about cleaning it, i cant get anything to stick. thanks guys i really appreciate your help

The clips are available through the dealer at about a buch a piece.

Is the door gap even from top to bottom? Maybe the door hinges have sagged a litte closing the gap at the bottom?

I suggest heating up the 3M tape with a heat gun before you stick the moulding onto the car. I work at a bodyshop, and the detailers do that when they stick moulding on.

i had it stuck on nice and tight and it stayed for two days and it just gave out today and now i have the same exact problem, ack

There is some glue that comes in 2 seperated tubes but the tubes and the plunger are connected so u have the right amount of each and it dries clear and in 5 mins its finished and it'll hold forever. U can find it at like auto zone or something :talon:
