Im looking into buying a 1998 GSX, but it has a 6 bolt swap with a 7 bolt head, Can anyone help me out on what that means? Which engine is it? is it slower??
Also the guy has 550 injectors, he says its dumping too much fuel... What do i have to do? He says tune it or get stock injectors?? Anyone that gives me any info is a great help, Thanks

6bolts are early 4g63 engines. A bit more robust. Its a good thing to have.

Just get some 450cc injectors. I may have a set if you need some pm me.

You can either get an afc or spend a buttload of money for ecmlink, which in my opinion you're a good ways off from needing that. Does it still have the stock fuel pump? If so just find someone with stock injectors (they're a dime a dozen from people selling them here on the classifieds. You can the chip route if you want to spend more money on an eprom ecu and get it chipped for your injectors. Mods on here are against guys responding with "search" replies...but you really should do that. There's a lot of options for you out there depending on what you're plans are with this car. If it was me I'd just get some stock injectors and be safe and have it run properly until I layed out a plan for myself on how I'm going to do my upgrades. Good luck though and keep us posted.

Most people like to run a 2g head with a 6 bolt bottom end cause they are less likly to get crankwalk and it is a good combonation and if its a 98 that you are getting then you should be able to flash the ecu cause the 98 and 99s had a flashible ecu
