What fans to buy? People running large turbos with FMIC's and Fluidynes HELP!

I will be running a large turbo, something of a GT30 or GT35 variant. I have a Fluidyne radiator and the space for fans is meager at best. I am reading that FAL Slimlines are 2 5/8" deep, but this seems too deep for my application; I'd rather not spend ~$350 on fans that will melt from the heat off of my turbo. Do they make a thinner slimline? Or is this 2 5/8" figure at the deepest arbitrary point of the dual fan shroud? If this is the overall depth, what other fans should I consider? Thanks!

I'm not sure if the fans in the FAL dual fan setup are the same as their regular fans, but my SPAL is noticeably thinner than my friend's FAL. The only part on the FAL that does stick out is the fan motor area.

i have heard from numerous vendors that the stock fans are the best. just trim the shroud

The motors on the stock fans is way too deep to run them on a Fluidyne with a large aftermarket turbo/FMIC intercooler piping. If you know of someone who has done this, I would be interested in seeing pictures.

The SPAL's do look good; 2.05 in. deep at the thinnest, but only push 900cfm @6.7amps MAX (the amperage cannot be increased or they burnout); I'd like to have at least 2500cfm total with just the pullers and probably another pusher on the front of the radiator.

Looks like FAL slimline dual 12's will be the one's to use. Thanks guys!
