What electrical problem will burn the ECU

I had hocked up two ECU in two different time...
both ECU fried at the same spot.
Capacitor in the middle right by the female shocket for the cable to plug in.
what will be the problem?
can it be fix?
and how much.

Do you think the car caused it or the age of the ecu. I blew two as well and both were not recapped. I had steve send me a freshly rebuilt ecu. No problems since.

ok i see the link...
it is the top left corner, the capacitor to store power...
any idea?

Ecu, I dono,
the original one burned...
and a shop order another one for me...
dono if it is from the junk...

the thing is... my car has been parking for a long time...
i found some rat sh!t in my car...
so i hope it is not real big electrical problem...

but i think i am getting rid of my car now..
2 and 3 cyclinder had low compression due to the ring...
front end twisted...
body in bad shape...
+ rear axle is bended...

The two main capacitors leak in 1G ECUs. It's not a matter of if just when. They all will if they still have the original capacitors.
