What ecu options are for the 2g N/T?

There are two sure things. That is, two products I can tell you WILL work.

1. AFX ECU from Howell Automotive. If you have a 97 MTX, this WILL work, since you have a 98, I don't think so. Some people have fiddled with the wiring harness, but I don't know about that, ya know?

2. Megasquirt'n'Spark "stand alone" fuel computer. You build it yourself and it allows you to modify your AFR and ignition timing however you want to. Full set up will run you under $400 if you have someone build it for you, slightly less if you build it yourself. Best bet would be to get a wideband O2 sensor to use with it for proper tuning. Otherwise you have to take it to the dyno. Do a search here or on Google for it and do some homework.

Actually the full setup will cost you damn near $1200 for everything.

Mental note, the Megasquirt is not for novices or intermediate users.

Howell has announced that it is coming out with AF/X computers for the 98 & 99 models in a couple of weeks

Let's see...

MSnS - $335
RSAutosport harness kit and sensors - $125
Zeitronix Zt-2 wbO2 - $500
eBay laptop for logging/tuning - $200

I guess you're close, but you don't have to buy a $500 wbO2 set up like I did. You could make do with a Tech Edge set up for around $150 (plus sensor). Besides, don't you run a Portfueler?

I'll agree with this one completely. Especially when you conisder most pople looking for an ECU upgrade are really just trying to find easy horsepower which requires little work to achieve.

what about a 95?

nope sorry, i dont think so. with the 98-99 its just some harness adjustments, but for a 95 it would be a whole new ecu.

there is a kid on 2gnt running a 95 neon "mopar performance" computer. he said he lost a/c and p/s but it does not have an egr circuit (blockoffs=no cel :thumb:) and it disregards the downstream o2 sensor-gut the cat....chris
