I dont really know the names of the parts for the car, but I can describe it...

So yeah, I just recently bought a 1990 Eclipse GS-X from my cousin. Somewhat before I bought it, my friend reliability turned the boost up to 14 psi. But my cousin thought it was cool, and turned the boost to 22 psi. Which I assume it's maxed boost. I was intrested in the car, and he sold it to me. So he took me to test drive it. When he stepped on the gas, of course you'll feel a huge boost of power. But then after we got to my cousins house. Oil was on the head. He told me oil shoots out of the oil thing, that has that long stick that you stick into it. But he said it only does that when he floors the car. He also tried tightly binding the oil stick onto the oil box thing, to stop it from shooting up. But that didn't work.

My other friend said it could be because different fuel are mixing, and could be because of the head gasket. I was thinking, maybe it could be the boost, cause 22 psi on stock internals are pretty bad as it is..., I plan on taking the manual boost controller off, and boost stock. So I'm just wondering whats wrong with it.

So basically, whats wrong if oil shoots out of that oil thing where that long metal stick is in. Sorry, but I dont know what that thing is called,WTF .....:( ......

Yeah, the dip stick. Some how oil is shooting out of it when you floor the car.... at 22 psi,OMG ....

I am assuming you are talking about your oil dipstick? If that is the case it is probably from the amount of blowby your are getting ( rings arent handling the pressure of the combustion chamber). The higher you raise the boost the more blowby you are going to get.
I would suggest turning your boost down ( for your best interest) and mabye do a compression test to check the condition of your piston rings.

Oil shooting out of the dipstick is known as blow by. This can be caused by excessive pressure in the crankcase causing this dipstick to blow out of its holder. Excessive pressure can come from a number of things: bad piston rings, old PCV valve, or worn o-rings around the dipstick handle.

A temporary fix to prevent the dipstick from blowing out is to get some safety wire and use it to hold the dipstick in place.

You should also turn that boost back down to 14 psi unless you want your engine to commit seppku.

Cool, Just wondering if it was the boost, but if it isn't that. I'll be sure to try everything you guys mentioned here. thanks for the feedback,:thumb: .

shouldnt he be worried about the damage 22 psi without upgraded injectors on a stock turbo and internals would cause besides oil shooting out of the dipstick?

I think he needs to worry about 22psi on a 14b? the dipstick is normal. it always hapens to our engins when you run high boost. replace your oring on the dip stick and run 7psi till you learn more about the car.

Not if your rings are sealing properly, the PCV valve is functioning, and the o-rings on the dipstick are good.

But yeah, turn the boost back down before you make some nice big holes in your pistons. And do a compression test.

dont buy a car from idiots who turn boost up and dont know what a dipstick is....

Again... :)
