Hialeah,
and how can i test the system for a boost leak...and something else my car bogs at half throttle what do u guys think it is, i allready changed the plugs wires both ngk and changed the fuel filter allready, its feelslike the car isn getting enough gas at the time i really dont know .. i need help guys thanks...

What are your complete list of mods? Your file says stock. Even if you have wires it counts.

Boost leak is kinda hard to explain depending on how bad you have it. I had it real bad so basicly I could keep my car at WoT and my rpms would slowly climb. I am sure there are tons of forums on this site all ready on boost leak.

You might want to invest in this as well.

That's dam sure not a boost leak... Or at least not a normal one.
Sounds more like a ignition/fuel problem to me actually.
Check your plug gaps and wires for open marks.

my car does the same thing. When i boost to 5 psi on my gauge it will hold for a few seconds but then it sputters and bogs out, but the second i floor it the boost goes up to about 14 psi and never bogs or sputters. I have some more mods than you but this sounds like the same problem. Its drivin me crazy too i have tried some injector cleaner and that didnt solve it so i am gonna build me a boost leak tester tomorrow and see if that shows anything is leaking. I ll let you know if i find a fix to the problem.

Here are my mods btw if it helps:
uicp kit
apexi bov (vented)
injen intake system
8.5 mm plug wires w/ngk plugs
2.5 buschur downpipe
2.5 testpipe
3 in HKS hi power cat back
boost gauge, air/fuel gauge

anyone else have this problem too>??

When I installed some things on my car (fuel upgrades) I had that same "Lull" in my powerband. It was a rich condition that was solved via the S-AFC. You have a fuel problem somewhere most likely.

WhiteCharisma,
Sounds like your entire fuel system needs to be checked since you have not messed with any of it.

Ry's_95tsi,
Your vented BOV is probly your problem. That does cause a temp rich condition that has to be "WORKED" through. Not completely, but more than likely is not helping the lull you are having at partial throttle.

ya i kinda figured that had something to do with it. I have a greddy type s bov on the way that will be recirculated i am hoping that will cure it. Its deff runing rich my friend says when he is behind me it black smokes when i open it up a little bit.
**also when i installed my exhaust i noticed the o2 sensor ground wires were corroded and not really hooked up at all so i didnt bother to do anything with them. Do i need to make some new wires and just bolt them to the exhaust and then to the car somewhere? could this be part of the problem?

Any fuel mods Ry ? Are you running on the stock setup as far as boost is concerd (sp)?

no i dont have any fuel upgrades yet. I am pretty sure my boost setup is all stock it hits 14-15 psi on my autometer gauge. I dont think any free mods have been done because i didnt do any (not sure about the guy that had it before me though.) Do you think my car could benifit from an safc even though the fuel system is stock?

*sorry for kind of hi-jacking your thread whitecharisma*

dont sweat it.... i need as much feed back as i can get ... u think an afc would solve my problem too, even thought im not modded ?... its gotta be a fuel mixture problem at that rpm its either getting too little fuel or to much, i think an afc can fix this wat do u guys think?..or one of those hks vpc's?...

I think that either your O2 sensor isn't working properly (or isn't connected, like you said) - most likely choice - or you have problems with your ECU.

I'm betting on that O2 sensor. Obviously once it starts not using the O2 sensor (WOT) it works fine.

i did change the fuel filter and i do run 93 octane...i could be the ecu, i dont get the check engine light on, when the ecu is bad it doesnt signal any trouble codes and if it was the o2 sensor the ecu is supposed to notice that malfunction........shyt.. thanks guys

Check your waste gate for proper operation. I had a similar, but not the exact same, kind of problem, and I found that my waste gate was getting intermittently stuck.

i know what your problem is.... you are venting... there is a point where you are reving up that you having gotten into boost or just started to, where your bov will open slightly... this is letting out metered air... and you bogggggggg cuz you are rich... this happens usually right around when you get are right around 0psi/vac on your boost/vac gauge right? right around that area? stop venting your bov and all should be good again. (if you havent already fouled your plugs).

oops i misread somebodys elses post as yours...

dont use an afc as a bandaid... find the real problem and fix it... you are just asking for more trouble if you bandaid problems

hmmm i would check this things first...

plugs...
wires...
coilpacks...
FPR vac line...
FPR itself...
BOV might be stuck open....
check all connections...
check for loose vac lines or disconnected ones..
make a boost leak tester and test to like 15 psi at least...

oh yeah....last thing i can think of.... check of there is a post MAF/pre-turbo leak... sometimes running that will overflow the MAF and cause a similar problem.

Actually, a REALLY large boost leak can cause this. Make sure your intake is complete, clean the throttle body, and pressure test your intake. Pressure testing is really easy to do. Everyone should do it once a week.

Also, I'd run some fuel injector cleaner through your system. As well as double check your firing order and your plugs condition and gap.

(your firing order should be 4-1-2-3)

yeah i just set up my MAFt and vented greddy type s, but before i was bogging BAD...like REAL BAD and i didnt know what it was...when i went to change the UICP i saw that the plastic had a small hole in it somewhere...i already forget where...but that was my problem...i ahd boost leak like a bi***...it was so bad that i could hear it thru my passenger window when my window was down...it might be that...if you have the money id suggest just getting Upper IC pipes...their like 185 from dejon tool and you can get them for a vented setup or a recirculated setup...only problem is you have to get a new BOV too...IF you consider that a problem :thumb:
