ok i want to run 17 to 20 psi on a 95 awd tsi talon. can that be done on stock internals? i would guess it could be, as long as it is properly tuned. how much can the stock turbo boost to safely, cause it is small as hell so i would guess 15ish would be pushing it. also, if i just get injectors, intake, exhaust, boost controller, and then get it chipped. will that be enough to run 17 to 20psi safely? i have heard the fuel pump is pretty good, so i can probably leave that, what about the fuel rail? also would i need no plugs?

thanks, details would be very very nice.

well a stock long block is good for about for 24psi after that its geta little tricky. They are a couple different varibles to run 20psi:
1. What octane will you be running?
2. 20psi on what turbo?
lets say it was a 20G on 20psi on 93 octane i would say a 255 fuel pump, 660cc injectors, AFC, you can upgrade to a 1G fuel rail, EGT and A/F (windband o2 is better than narrow) gauges, and datalogger. This would be a good set up for a 20G on 20psi with 93 octane:dsm:

A reburned chip is the proper way to tune if you have the equipment to customize it for your setup.

Otherwise www.dsmchips.com can help compensate for larger injectors.

nice, how much do AFC cost, and what flow is the stock fuel pump? also, do i need intake/exhaust, or will it work with out it?

U need 550's w/ a 190 pump and a AFC.

that should put u at where u want to be on your 14b 17-18 psi.

yes, exhaust should definitely be on your To Buy List.

i have been told 10 to 11, how much can the stock turbo boost safely? should i get a 16g, or 20g if i need a new turbo. as for the exhaust side, how much do headers cost?

So anywhere from 8-14psi.. Depends on the car.

Agreed, all cars are different. With you having a 2g, the T-too small 25 turbo on it sucks. When u increase your boost to max out your stock injectors, I would say that would be enough for the t-25. If it is the stock turbo that came with your car, if i remember seeing your listing you have a 95, if so, the turbo probably won't last too long at that boost level. It will start to get some serious shaft play then go out on you, so just expect it. Some last longer then other.

Whether to go with a 20g, or a 16g is up to you. If you have a FWD car, i would go ahead and get a 16g, it is a great street turbo and will not unleash ungodly power that will just give u wheel spin in a FWD like a 20g will. Both will require a LICP kit, unless u get a 90 welded on the 20 g, then u could just use your current LICP. Or u could just get a T-28 that is already a direct bolt on with the 90. Do some research and see what fits your budget the best and what kind of power numbers you are looking for. And if you do have a GS-t, remember, more power is not always better cuz without power to the ground, it's worthless. so it's kinda whatever you want.

disregard all i said about a fwd, i see now u have a AWD. Go big on the turbo and snap some drivetrain parts!!!!:thumb:

if u are looking for a tubular header, they range anywhere from 500 to over 1000 dollars.

just get yours fully ported and your O2 housing ported, that will be fine for what i believe you are looking for. invest in the turbo upgrade, lord knows with you runnin the t25, u need it.

ok i just got into the whole dsm thing, so i don't know all the terminology so try to be mroe specific when its dsm specific...i know about basic turbo cars, but like the LICP, no idea...and between the B16G and 16G all the difference is, is hte actual size of it? meaning slower spooling on the B16G? also whats my engine like vs the evo, as far as internals, cause i know the evo runs 18psi. but yeah i have very little money, so the less stuff to buy the better. ok thanks guys more info is great

ohh also, what size turbo did the 1g's have and how much can i boost on those? when i say i have very little money, i mean i have very little money. so i am going to be a junk yard whore this summer. i am trying to think of all the stuff i could find there, and i was wondering about the turbos. which turbos, from what cars would work the best...or not even best, but work, without a lot of other mods? well ideas are good thanks!

Sounds like you need to use the search feature... Every single question you have asked has been answered 100 times on this forum.

alright, does the search function actually work? most searches on forums suck a$$.

No need for a 1g fuel rail. The 14b flows some 425cfm, but still you can't run 20psi with one. You'll roast its bearings in a hurry they will be spinning way to fast, not to mention heating the air into ungodly temps.

Read the parts guide or just to some plain old searching. I've been into dsm's for 4 years now. I now have a highly modded (not yet running) 90 TSi AWD, and a recently purchased from an (dsmer asshole) 97 Eclipse GSX.

And I have yet to run either of these cars at 20psi.
Let me just say if you don't know what your doing, your gonna end up with soupy pistons running 20psi or anything over that in a hurry.

BoostinAWD is right.

According to the flowmap at taboo, you don't want to run over about 30 lb/min on a 14b. I hit this at about 16-17 psi on my 2g. It shows efficiency going <60% and rpm >150,000.

alright, well i will look into it. i was looking at all the stuff i can use from the 1g, and there is a lot, but i haven't been able to find any indepth posts on it. only general things i could use. i guess iw ill have to get an aftermarket fuel rail. how much does the T28 flow?
