What did I break? (Drivetrain)

I did about 45 minutes of searching and can't really figure out what it is. Probably won't know until its all torn apart but looking for opinions.

I have a 96 GS-T, its 6 bolt converted with a GT35R I was running 30psi today.
Sheptrans, I believe competition clutch but unsure. Quaife LSD. Last dyno 460whp 351tq 26psi

I did a pull through 3rd gear shifted at 105, shifted into 4th gear continued pulling until 120 and it suddenly went to redline (4th tops at 145) .
So what happened was at about 6,000rpm and 30psi boost it instantly jumped up to about 7k and I immediately let off before it could bounce off 8k redline. At this point realized the shifter was going into all gears physically but not actually "going into gear" as if I was in neutral. Pulled over and heard something spinning around the trans area while the car was stopped. I CAN let the car run and sit still while the shifter is in gear and it does not stall.

The clutch feels like it has usually felt, the trans will go into all gears car running or not, except for 1st and 2nd gear it can not be forced into even while car is off.

Does this sound like the clutch blew out and/or caused transmission damage? Am I going to have to take it all apart before I will know? I have a video of the pull but I don't know if it will help, I explained what happened and didn't really hear anything break.

When mine did that, I stripped the teeth off the input shaft where it meshes with the intermediate shaft.

Sounds like clutch went but yeah you defintely will have to take it apart and find it what came loose hopefully its just in the bellhousing and not inside the case. Dont drive it and risk further damage.

My money is on the diff.

Sounds like the clutch went. Check and make sure an axle didnt snap, that could cause this issue as well.

Well you are a wiseman so your probably right for his situation hope its only the clutch or shift fork.

With a Shep trans though at roughly 500 whp??

I dont have any experience with Comp clutches.. But since you are unsure who knows maybe its got ebay junk in there??? I have however had a clutch strip the splines out like MY1GLASER mentioned and it did everything you're describing. The video wouldnt hurt but it probably wouldnt go well with the rules and exceeding the speed limit on public roads and such ya know..

I really think you wont know whats wrong until you drop the trans..

since you can go into all gears but 2nd my money is on the cluster gear or(output shaft).

Thanks for the replies, I guess no matter what it is I'd have to have the trans dropped to fix it, so I'll report back with the results whenever I cough up the cash to do it. I want to hope for a clutch issue but the fact it won't go into 2nd is frightening. We shall see.
