Okay he is my problem I guess. I have a 96 talon with a 6 bolt swap. Here is where I went in another direction then your typical link and 6 bolt cas setup. I am running a 98/99 flashable ecu , 97-99 style cam sensor and a kiggly crank sensor. Car as been running , got 1000 miles on the new setup. I know you are suppose to flip your spark plug wires from 4123 to 2341 and I did and car runs. Now your suppose clock your fuel injectors wires at the ecu. I have them set in their stock locations. Should I flip them? I know people say you rotate them cause it smooths out your idle. but that's only cause you got rid of the crank sensor and running a 1g cas and that flips the fuel injector firing order.

Fuel trim LTFT low 2%
Fuel trim LTFT Mid -1.9%

Base timing 14 degrees

Idle 1100 to 1200 rpms stables out some where in the middle.

-10psi vac

afr's bounce from 13.8 to 15.9

at start up cold or warm just runs crazy rich till it warms up , misfires a little.

Also no boost leaks have check that.

Since the 95-96 were the only years with the inverted cam sensor, should you NOT switch the plug wires or injectors? I'm not sure, I am going to be dealing with this in the next week or so.

Whether you use a 1g cas or the 97-99 cas, you still have to change the injector wires over. That vacuum is too low. I'd be looking at the throttle body

The TB is a brand new rebuild from steve at TB.com. I actually had to send it back to him cause the plate was binding and one of my TBS seals wasn't in flush. So there were some leaks. Got it back and everything is mint.

The -10 psi vac is fine. With how ported my head is with 1mm os valves and the size of my cams -10 psi normal.

But why do I have to change my injectors wires. Im still running a crank sensor like a 7 bolt. in a 95-96 car. So the cam signal does both spark and fuel injection? So why even have a crank sensor

normally, cam sensor are for fuel, crank are for spark. but on dsms, i believe the signals are read and compared for more accurate fuel and spark delivery.

i havent looked into dsm specifics, but thats my off hand thoughts.

and in my opinion, 10in hg is not enough vacuum by a long shot, but you do have 280 cams...

Well I know switching the plug wires is a must , cause 4123 def doesn't work. Then when I did 2341 it fired right up. I just have to check the injectors wires and see which way idles better.

So you had to swap the plug wires even though you went to the 97-99 cas mounted on the passenger side of the cam? Well now, there goes all my confidence on thinking I knew what I was doing. Thanks for the heads up. With the 97-99 cas and the corresponding year computer I figured it would be pretty much plug and play. Oh well, off to the wiring diagrams and ecu pinouts it is.

Yeah you have to swap your spark plugs wires in a 95 or 96. doesn't matter what cas your running 1g or 97-99. The 95-96 wiring harness is wired differently. So even running a 97-99 cas and 98-99 ecu the harness is wired differently cause the cas in on the drive side on the timing gear. That's has much as I know. I figured The crank sensor wouldn't matter cause its a 95 to 99 has the same crank sensor , but I guess that was wired differently too to operate correctly with the cas on the driver side.

Well rotated my injector wires and car runs like crap now. So to answer everyones question. When running a 6 bolt in a 95-96 car and your using the kiggly 6 bolt crank sensor aka 2g crank sensor setup. you don't touch the injector wires. you only touch the spark plug wires which tells me crank sensor controls injectors and cam sensor controls spark. If you any disagree with this you better have same damn good proof
