Hi , uhm well I've just bought myself an engine from a 1g eagle talon tsi (1993) FWD , I'm gonna put it into my 2g eagle talon TSI AWD I want to keep my 2g awd transmission and put in the 1g engine (wich I'm pretty sure is a 7bolt because its from 1993 from what I understand) . the thing is I wanted to change my clucth while the tranny is open but I dunno If I get a 1g clutch or a 2g clutch . I would appreciate any help and or comments to if anything is wrong with my plan thank you in advance.

you need the clutch to match your 7 bolt flywheel, so what ever flywheel you run thats what clutch you will need, i think 1g and 2g 7 bolt clutches are the same thing.

i think you will need the awd flywheel too, dont quote me on that though

Well, you said you are going to keep the 2G Trans. It would be smart to order a 2G Clutch and Flywheel kit, but like above said, I am pretty sure they are the same 90-99.. At least that is what was labeled on my ACT kit when I bought it.

He's right. All of the ACT clutch kits are for cars 90-99. That means the spline count between 1G and 2G, as well as FWD/AWD must have been the same. An AWD is more demanding on a clutch. Decide how much power you want to make in the next year or two, and get a clutch that will safely withstand that power level. And don't forget to resurface your flywheel if you're not buying a new one. Good luck with the project.

ok then thanks alot I appreciate your guys help. also I'm wondering is act best clutch for our cars ? is it better than exedy ?

All depends what your goals are.

ACT works great for a lot of people especially the 2600. Downfall, to some are clutch chatter and also, the infamous spring that pops off the clutch disc.. but I think that was a bad batch. Don't think I have heard of that issue lately.

Exedy I think only has like one kit for the 2G or at least from what I have found and I think it is a twin disc kit. probably more than what you need at this point from the sounds of it.

You can try the Fidanza kit some like it and for the price, but I would recommend the ACT just because a lot have tried and are pretty satisfied with it.
