Hey i am gonna have my motor built up this winter and i was wondering. i had my 2g manifold ported, o2 housing ported, and 14b redone. I just spent the money to have that done, and am wondering how much boost and what kind of power it can produce. 20lbs and 3-350hp? my goal is 400hp, so am i gonna need to sell that stuff and by and evo III 16g or sum. Thanks.

I made 289whp at 23psi on the stock SMIC, dropping to 18psi over 6k. It ran 12.4 @ 109 like that. Then I got a Dejon big SMIC and ran 12.1 @ 112. There are a handful in the 11s, and Goodwill has gone 10s in a gutted FWD. It's all in the tuning and driving.

my dyno tune took place in 90 degree heat, i almost made 300whp with the 14b. now that its about 50 degrees colder, the talon feels 50 HP stronger. i run 20 lbs daily. while i dont think 400 whp is attainable on the 14b, low 300's deffinatly is.

The 14b will only do 30 lbs/min no matter what you do to the rest of the motor, but you can bolt on a 7cm turbine housing from a smoked 16g to try to get a little more power at that airflow. You can check out www.DSMtimes.org and look at the 14b list to see what that tiny little turbo has done for some poeple. I think I ended the quest at 12.7 at 109 and upgraded.

so i could run 13's pretty easily on my 95 seven bolt with a 14b? i didnt think much of them

I ran low-mid 13s on pump gas with a 14b, so that's certainly not hard to do if you run race gas at the track. I think the vids are on my site.

Thinking back, I ran 13.7 at 99 on the T25. I swapped in the 14b, 190 pump, and AFC, and went 13.1 at 105 or so. The next trip to the track I got the ET down to 12.98 IIRC, but that was a hard won 12 second pass on my completely bald tires. Went back the next week with new tires and went 12.74 at 109, IIRC. This was on race gas with 25 psi boost on stock cams.

The 14b is a fun little turbo. Set up a little better than I had it I would expect to run very high 12s on pump and mid 12s on race gas. I'm thinking DSMlink, cams, FMIC, and all the other usual little mods like exhaust, etc. The problem these days is that good 14Bs are harder to come by (I got mine for 125 bucks with 125k miles on it, and put God knows how many more hard miles on it over a year or so), and the EVO 16Gs are so cheap (not to mention ~35% bigger).

I saw 32 lbs/min and a DSMLink estimated ~276awhp out of mine at 17PSI and 93 octane.

That was with stock 1G compression, cams, and everything else needed to support it.

thats cool, im just looking to get into the 13's by spending the least amount of money, ill probably end up just upgrading FPR and fuel pump, and if neccessary injectors

the first thing you should upgrade (fuel wise) is the fuel pump. The stock fuel pump is the weakest link in the chain. If the fuel pump you pick requires an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, that will come next, otherwise it is not needed. After the fuel pump would come injectors. if your just trying to get into the 13's I'd suggest getting a 3000gt vr-4 fuel pump for 40 dollars used off www.3si.org like I did. This way you can use the stock fuel pressure regulator and save that money towards fuel injectors. 13's are easy with a good driver.
