what are the symptoms of needing f.p. rewire?

ok, forget about the fact that we need to rewire the fuel pump, but what are the symptoms of not having it done?

how would the car act? what would happen while trying to tune for a pretty high boost level, 18-19psi? all other mods are done...650's, 255, fmic, afc, etc.

well my symptom was it suddenly died at 40 mph no power steering etc on a 4 lane highway great experience :laugh:

I would also like to hear what symtoms you could get from not re-wiring a 255 pump.

In short, a lean condition.

As the motor demands fuel and the fuel pump can't keep up pressure will drop off. No matter how much you try to add with an engine management setup the car will not get more fuel.

A fuel pressure gauge is any easy way to diagnose the problem.

fuel pump rewiring is a necessity, i just haven't done it yet for various reasons, one being that i never noticed a need for it on my previous talon, and i've been lazy . this talon seems to be alot more sensitive to many different things though than my other one.
