Are there any reasons that I should do this? Any performance gains? Or just higher emissions?

Clutter? don't see how anything that cant be seen unless looking for it would be clutter. but yeah what he said basically. and keep intake temps down, another thing that im not sure if a 2g has is the coolant lines that go to the throttle body. you can remove those and get cooler intake temps also.
You want a cooler intake temp get a heat barrier (phenolic spacer) gasket.by removing coolant lines from throttle body you will get cooler intake temps ????
how is that possible ??
