What are some free mods?? for a 2g spyder?

Hey guys i have a 97 spdyer and all i have on it is a turbo xs blow off valve which makes my car sound badass but it makes it die after it goes off anyways and a filter that i got off ebay i was reading about some free mods and now want to knwo what are all free mods that i can do to my 2g i know about taking that thing out of that stock boost control thing is there anymore let me know thanks

www.vfaq.com is your friend...people here are not going to provide answers for you if you're not going to try to search yourself for them...

btw if you have the blow off valve vented to the atmosphere - yes it may sound "badass" but you'd get alot better performance if you 'vented' it back into the intake...

Hey that bov doesnt have anythign to let it go back into the intake how much performance are we talking about here is it worth it? also i tryed researching it myself but couldnt find that many things but thanks alot for your help

you obviously didnt try researching very hard, vfaq has tons of free mods, also try dsmtalk.com they got free mods there as well, under nubie forum.

anyways i use to vent in my 97 talon with a 1st gen bov and it didnt run very well like you said your car is running bad, then i started to recirculate it and it ran way better and felt alot faster. now when i bought my eclipse, it already had a turboxs-rfl bov on it and yes it sounds bad ass, and the car actually runs good, but now i am thinking that i want to switch to a 1st gen bov and just recirculate it

Yes its worth recirculating. What turbo xs valve is it, the type H-34 or RFL. Both can be reciculated with some rubber hose plugged back into the intake. though the RFL is a lil harder to plug back in. I garuntee your gas mileage will GREATLY IMPROVE. IF your car is stuttering on its own gas I bet you're getting black smoke between shifts etc. Mine was recirculated and felt like a whole different car oncwe I plugged it back in. YMMV

FRee mods (just a list, you'll find the complete instructions by searching through v-faqs or even on google)

-Clean out intercooler w/ gas
-Cut vents behind intercooler and put in mesh etc.
-Remove little "nipple" on BCS to gain a few Pounds of boost
-Anything else you can rig up
-Reserved space for the simple ones I'm forgetting (damn all nighters)
