Friend: What's this "carbon fiber" hood and what does it do?

Me: Carbon fiber is a light material. Some people get it for looks, but it's "purpose" is to make the car lighter, therefore, go faster.... a modification.

Friend: But isn't your hood already modified with that bump in it?

Me: ummm...no....it comes like that.... haven't you noticed it's on eeeeeevery Eclipse basically??

Other than that...nothin too crazy.... just always "why?" to everything i have or want to do to my car. Why why why??
 
my girlfriend asked me why didnt i get the 4 door model since i like to take people everywhere.

and i get

them : is that turbo??? sounds like one.
me : nah, i couldnt afford it at the time.
them : why didnt you get the turbo?
me : uh, i couldnt afford one and there wasent one at the dealership.
them : why dont you slap a turbo on it?

typical conversation from people hearing my car.

why do you have a BOV, ur car doesnt have a turbo
 
Not really stupid but funny...

I was racing this guy in a modded Protege' up Airport Blvd and when we got to the next light he sticks his head out of the window and yells..."You got juice on there?!" Im like no, just a turbo, he then says "Oh, cause it sounds like you got something poppin off under there!". Popping off... I thought that was pretty funny.
 
You know when I first read this thread, I thought so of you tuners veterans were ####ing around, that is until you provided the link......My god, the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Me and two other guys here could not stop laughing. :laugh:

I've gotten mainly weird questions:
"Why did you drop the twin turbo for the single?"
"If it's a mitsu, then why do they have a non-vtec honda engine?"
"I have a friend I know who is running a supercharger on his."

Those are all I can remember.
 
Yesterday, I had a girl ask me why I put the bump on the driver side of the hood instead of the passenger side. I tried to explain and even showed her the timing cover but she still didnt understand.
 
Almost everybody who asks about my car, asks:

"Is it twin-turbo?'

Then theyask why not.

and my response is, find me an eclipse with 2 turbos, and then ask him why my car isnt twin-turbo.
or if i want to be an ass, the ask if it is a twin-turbo, to which my response is: "No man, I got a fatt quad-turbo setup, it was a limited edition!":shhh:

Nice Car Man, My friend just picked up an Eagle Talon its american muscle man hes got a V8 and its turbo charged..I just like to say damn your right you ever hear about them Lasers? Twin Turbo V8 run 7s from the factory

There was the guy that asked why the Idiot Brake Light on his dash came on - In the SAME POST he had a pic of his empty Brake Master Cylinder...

What about the s2000 guy who tried to install a nitrous jet into the intake side of his valve cover, that was classic (although not very old).
 
well this wasnt a question, but long before i was into DSM's, i knew enough to hold a conversation though. I was talking to this guy and he had a 90 eclipse gs nt. he had a fat VTEC sticker on the back, and i was like HAHA! So i asked, Hey man do you really have VTEC in this puppy? he said no
but then he said he was getting a turbo for it. and he pointed to the bump in the hood "its going to go right there". i was like "really, right next to your cam gears huh?" "he said that he bought that hood from a junkyard so he could put the turbo where the bump was!". I about rolled over laughing. anyway. enough of my random posts
anyone else?

-at a light with an integra in the far left lane (i think it was an ls, looked stock) and porsche 944 (also stock) next to me; i yell to the passenger of the 944- hey, who do you think would get to the next light (about 2 blocks) first... integra, porsche or dsm? -looks over and then back- "i think the integra would beat us all" :rolleyes:

why would you spend so much on a car? why not just buy a dodge ram or something? if you want power, that has more than your car will ever make.

some hillbilly has constantly asked me

i told him because i wanted a dsm.. and he just kept pushing the stealth bit.

i also get "your not going to put a fart can on there are you" from most people around here.

then i got into a pissing contest with a saturn salesman at the auto show.. telling me how great the new ion is. i told him that i thought it was fast from the factory.. but no match for a modded dsm.. not to mention ugly as hell...

oh and things like
"are you going to get a bov?"

my friend who just got a gst
"whats that smell josh?, it smells like poop" me: thats your clutch man
