weird sound at start?

when i start the car in the morning it makes a weird sound like a grinding or a stater stuck sound i dont know what it is can you please help??? car is a 97 gst spyder

If its right when your car starts after cranking its prolly the bendix spring in the starter getting weak. Mine did this for about a month after I got my car all put back togeather, then it magically went away.

Another common suspect for startup noises is the harmonic balancer.

is it when you turn the ignition or when you actually start the car?

Does it sound like its turbo related? My t25 did that when it was busted...the housing shrinks a bit when its cold and I had soo much shaft play, it scraped the housing till it warmed up.
