I was driving down the road doing like 45 when all the suddin there was a clunk noise then the car just shut off i started the car back up and it runs fine but when i put it in gear and try to move the car it makes a little noise and starts to bog out it does this in every gear does anybody know what this could be o and the car is a 90 laser rst fwd

does the car move under its own power? if it doesnt move itself can you push it?

Did it bring you to a screeching halt, or did it slowly coast to a stop? You might have blown your T-case.:toobad:

Most likely the dreaded transfer case seizure. Probably the most expedient check would be to check the fluid in your transfer case. If it's full, you might remove the transfer case and see if the front wheels try to spin. If they do and don't kill the car, then either the transfer case or rear differential took a dive. However, the law of averages goes against the transfer case. Buy an extra one. I have an extra just in case mine dies.

Good Luck

if he can push it doesnt that mean the tcase is okay? when mine seized the car wouldnt move at all.

I was not aware that the "90 laser rst fwd" came with a transfer case. Weird.

ps. cars runs, rolls in neutral, but bogs and dies when you try to drive ... sounds like input shaft or clutch

Good catch! I jumped to conclusions when I saw his screen name. More than likely the input shaft.:toobad:

Input shaft sounds like the answer, the clutch seemed fine when i pushed it while the car was running. Looks like i have to take it apart now. On the brightside i can put the ACT in. Thanks for the help fellas.
