weird drivtrain problem

I have a 92 TSI AWD A/T came stock with an LSD, i was driving along when all of the sudden it sounded like there was a dryer full of marbles underneath my seat, it gets worse when i give it gas, and the car handles like a RWD car, is it the differiental or is it the T-Case or what? any help would be sweet

Sounds transfer case related. I'd pull the transfer and remove the side plate to inspect the bearings.
