I'm going to replace my fuel filter connection from a flared fitting to a braided hose with AN fittings after I create a bead on the hard-line (feeding the filter).

I was wondering if could hookup the rail & injectors and pass fuel through everything to check for leak around the filter? or is there anyway to check for pressure leaks besides having it connected to the engine, while my engine bay is still empty?

Why not just get the correct adaptor to adapt the braided line to the flare fitting on the line? The idea of steel braided line being clamped to a steel line doesn't sound the best to me.

i agree, make sure the connection is good. you could get away with that on the return line but the feed line? i would just buy the adapter.

look okay, I've asked how to go about fixing my fuel feed in 3 different threads, my hardline is very short and no one seems to know where to buy the same flared fitting that was originally on the hardline.

replacing the entire line with braided hose was mentioned, as well as. fabricating a new steel line.

someone mentioned I could clamp onto the hardline AFTER I made a bead on the hardline. and just make up the other end with a AN fitting for the filter.

this appears to be the best way for me, I'm still wondering how good it'll hold, that's why I asked. it's not like I just came up the idea by myself, I'll go ahead and throw up the links if some people can't take the 5 mins to check out my other threads before posting.

If you want to clamp it on there than you need to use the push lock rubber hose. Th hard plastic center in the braided line isn't made to be clamped like that, and you will have a hell of a time even getting it to fit over the bead on the hose. You can also just run the gates fuel injection hose with fuel injection hose clamps. There are many cars that use that from the factory and don't have any issues with it.
