ive been having problems with my idle and im not getting any CELs. so in the morning before school i start my car and bang it goes to 2k or a lil higher then it does it until its hot sometimes and some time 3k when its hot. it really pisses me off and some times i can fix it with 6k shift and driving it hard. other times it just fixes it self and idles at 1k or 1500k if it wants to. the engine has 1700K on it and i have a K/N cut can and exhaust. i also replaced the tps and coolent temp sensor

An idle at 2 grand when not fully warmed up is normal, it's mitsus wonderful system of Electronic Choke Control. 3K is not normal.

Check if your cable is too tight.
Loosen up the bracket that holds the cable on and re-tighten it ensuring that pedal to the floor it's 100% WOT, no more, no less.

Your FIAV COULD be faulty, but it's doubtful. Your FIAV is a little wax pellet that when cold makes your car idle high because coolant hasn't melted it yet.

Are you having any surging with your idle?

Have you looked into adjusting your BISS? You should be able to make it idle at its normal 750-800 area.
Also, a side note.
Don't don't don't beat on your car until it's fully warmed up, please. 6K when it's cold! What are you thinking man?!?!
