Alright, so I am trying to install my SBR-GT30r and the compressor housing is freakin huge.

After rotating the compressor housing and denting in the water pipe the turbo finally has enough clearance to fit. Wait, where did that coolant come from? Crap, this turbo required so much "massaging" to the water pipe I cracked it open in the back.

So here's my question, I want to cut out the section that I cracked and just use some radiator hose and some good clamps to secure it. Any opinions or comments?

If I end up just getting a new water pipe, I think I will try and get a smaller compressor housing on this beast of a turbo.

I think the radiator hose idea will work. Just make sure the turbo doesn't rub against the hose or the vibration will wear through it and cause a massive leak.
You might want to modify the mounting tab on the water pipe so the pipe has more clearance, too.

the hose idea should work, just make sure you put some rtv sealent between the silacone hose and the water pipe, then clamp it down nice and snug.....just wait a day or so before putting coolant back in, to make sure it seals fully.........also another idea is to just JB WELD the crack, i had a crack on the waterpipe, and JB WELDED it......that shit is the shit!!! Good luck

the radiator house idea is fine, however you can't really "dent" radiator hosing so I don't know how you'd keep it from rubbing. Just make sure you put beeds on both ends of the water pipe and use rtv so there's no leak. Good luck.

I think I am going to go with the radiator hose with RTV and good clamps and then wrap the radiator hose with some thermal tape to protect it from heat and the turbo rubbing it. Thanks guys. :thumb:

The spacer plate is going to be the easiest and most trouble free solution. Adding hose and clamps RTV..ect..ect is just adding places for possible coolant leaks. If your looking for a spacer plate cheap i have the one from Hahn that I don't need anymore. The FP3065 I have now is designed to clear the water pipe without denting.

Dont get that rad hose near the turbine side of the turbo, it could possibly melt it.
